Re: A Storm Brewing. Burton Albion V Bolton, Saturday Aug 26th 3 0'Clock,.

Personal vitriolic abuse is absolutely unacceptable - however I'm talking about stuff that has gone on at every club and every ground in the country for decades It must have been quite personal abuse to Evatt for SB to come out with this statement. I will also say it again as no one has commented -...

Re: Old foes at Home. V Middlesboro in't E.F.L Cup. 7-45 29-08 at the Toughsheet..

Zero interest in this game, I wouldn't go if it was free. I'm getting the feeling you're not a cup lover :D IDK - I'm always wary of ruling them out, like my mate who refused to go to Anfield in '93 cos he was saving up... but yeah, I can understand if folk don't part with their hard-earned money (...

Re: A Storm Brewing. Burton Albion V Bolton, Saturday Aug 26th 3 0'Clock,.

If you don't know what was done/said, then it's got to be a bit tricky to work out whether it's OTT. Given we hear plenty of normal shite where they haven't responded like this, I think it's a fair bet it wasn't 'run of the mill." There's a long way between not sitting down / saying nowt and being ...

Re: A Storm Brewing. Burton Albion V Bolton, Saturday Aug 26th 3 0'Clock,.

I don't like SB's statement at all, there is absolutely no need for it IMO and its OTT. I can't find anything on forum's, social media etc. that's been directed at Evatt that merits this (although I'm not saying something wasn't said at Burton) Football is an emotive game, it always has been - the s...

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Increasing amount of chatter (idle for now) that Dion is going before the deadline. I have no idea but I do know the club thought it a realistic possibility a couple of weeks ago. So interesting to see what we would do. Would have to assume we have a ready made replacement lined up but it would hav...

How did you get to that £2.5m figure?
Its just a guess at the amount of the £4.5M bond money which I think would have gone into the transfer budget. Not just fee's but wages etc. If not I fail to see where the money will be spent.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Worthy do you think that to date Evatt has made best use of the transfer funds available, including around £2.5M of fans bond money (part of the £4.5M) ? and do you think that our team is better than the one that finished at Barnsley ? I'll say it again, in my opinion and in my opinion only I expect...

Re: A Storm Brewing. Burton Albion V Bolton, Saturday Aug 26th 3 0'Clock,.

Had to bounce back with a convincing win today for me. Same old shite. This....and Evatt says that we don't need more physicality & character in the side ! Big week ahead for Evatt & the board if they are serious about getting top 2, because at the moment this team is no better than the team that f...

Bad news for those trying to reanimate the corpse of Karl Henry. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/23735712.bolton-wanderers-boss-ian-evatt-faith-philosophy/ The fairly obvious retort, is Wigan had more then plenty of technical ability and nasty edge to beat us by 4 at home (and to be fair, it ...

Re: Match Thread: Pasties and Pies - A Tasty affair! Bolton v Wigan (H) - Saturday 19th Aug / 12.30

Evatt is right to address our mentality issue because it’s clear as day and staring us in the face. He’s brushed it under the rug for three seasons but it needs sorting. Have I missed something ? how has he addressed the mentality issue ? has he signed a couple of experienced more combative players...

Re: Match Thread: Pasties and Pies - A Tasty affair! Bolton v Wigan (H) - Saturday 19th Aug / 12.30

I get that they clearly didn't show the balls they shoulda. I would still say that's the gaffer's fault for not preparing, or selecting, them correctly. But yes, that's not to give players a free ride. As I say, we have to learn. He has to learn. That might include which players to pick when. This ...

Re: Match Thread: Pasties and Pies - A Tasty affair! Bolton v Wigan (H) - Saturday 19th Aug / 12.30

Apparently we lost 4-0 because we lacked tough midfielders with a winning mentality, but we've been being told by the same folk for ages that Sarcevic and MJ were that sort and they were getting hammered 4-0 in that fixture a couple of years ago. Mentality and attitude matter, massively; but abilit...
