Re: Pre-season fixtures 2017

Stockport Country tomorrow night, round the corner from me so I thought I'd look into it. £10. hahaha. No. Last time I saw us play at Stockport we had Jani Viander in goal. Michael Ricketts came off of the bench and scored a worldy just before his England half hour. I remember that. Lineker was on ...

Re: Where are you going tonight?

Went to see Stanley Clarke at Gorilla last night and met the man himself after the show. Truly a legend of the bass guitar.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

I notice we have Alex Bruce on trial. 32 year old Centre Half. Had lengthy spells at Hull and Leeds and Ipswich (mostly at this level with a few in the PL). Should he sign it'll add some competition in defence alongside Dervite behind the first choice duo of Beevers and Wheater and probably give us...

Re: Where are you going tonight?

I know I've slagged em off before (annoyed that a once smallish cult band got more popular - yes, I'm that type of bell-end), but I managed to score a cheap ticket to the Sunn 0))) concert tomorrow night at the Ritz as I'm intrigued and could do with the shit being shaken from me again. Nowt new on ...

Re: Where are you going tonight?

It is a typically miserable day for Manchester to be welcoming Radiohead for a big outdoor concert.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

Wonder if a loan for (Reece Burke) might also pave the way for a similar deal over Josh Cullen, two months Burke's senior. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/15369708.Wanderers_test_water_with_West_Ham_over_double_loan_deal/ "German Giants Borussia.......... Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

Buckley's main issues have been injuries. Good signing if he can keep off the treatment table.

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Yeah I saw Thundercat too. What was that guitar he was playing? Was sat there thinking "this is going to confuse any bugger that's turned up to see Katy Perry." It's a 6-string bass guitar. I missed him earlier this year at Gorilla but he's coming back later to play the Albert Hall (manchester) so ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Y'all should have seen the Foos around the late 90s/turn of the millennium. They haven't been the same since. Now all Daddy Dave does is scream at the end of every line and try and whip up the crowd. His voice is shot and their back catalogue took the severest of nose-dives after There Is Nothing Le...

Re: Where are you going tonight?

I was too excited in the run up and forgot to post - went to watch Kraftwerk at the Bridgewater Hall on Monday night. Absolutely staggering show! 2 hours 20 minutes of solid entertainment.

The Queen is 91. She went. It's not political point scoring. It's just good decency.

Re: The Politics Thread

Corbyn has just absolutely ripped the piss out of May - saying that if she can't do the deal with the DUP that Labour are ready to offer "strong and stable" leadership. I could warm to confident on the front foot Corbyn. Strong and stable leadership? Is this the party leader that their own MP's ref...

Re: The Politics Thread

Since Neil Armstrong took one small step in 1969, Labour has polled 40%(or more) of the total share of the vote four times. 1970 (Wilson, loss) 1997 (Blair, win), 2001 (Blair, win) & 2017. Truly remarkable from Corbyn, which ever way you want to slice it.

Re: The Politics Thread

Credit where it's due, I thought Corbyn was mad to go along with the election but he ran a very good campaign. Imagine how much stronger Labour would be if they had a more cohesive front bench behind him. Instead he's dealt with I don't know how many cabinet reshuffles due to coups and votes of no c...

Re: The Politics Thread

Corbyn has made himself unvotable for. If there was anyone else experienced enough and sensible enough to work towards geting the country back on its feet ( to dream the impossible dream) I 'd be in there like a shot. Unfortunately, for me with very limited political knowlege or even interest (that...

Re: The Politics Thread

She's an absolute chancer and not up to it. She says: "He (Corbyn) ought to be paying more attention to thinking about the brexit negotiations - that's what I'm doing." Hold the fecking phone Theresa, there's a flipping Election to win, one which, erm, you called, rather needlessly. And now Trump is...

Re: Retained list

Oh hell no. "Should Get Better" on what grounds? He's shown no potential that he can do Better Things on a consistent basis in two years. A decent season in League 1. Lordy! Yippee! He's a fecking plant pot with no connectivity in the grey matter, a footballing dullard and about as strong and stable...
