Re: Nice to be wombling again! - Wimbledon (A) 13/08/16

I'm just pondering whether to cycle... a pleasant 4.5-mile pedal... might be something quintessentially English about cycling to a 3pm KO... I'm gonna be knackered doing the 1 mile walk from Norbiton station to the ground, never mind pedalling 4 and half! The only ground of a comparable size I've b...

Re: Nice to be wombling again! - Wimbledon (A) 13/08/16

I'll be there, hoping for that away win drought to end seeing as I rarely get to see home matches (though the last one was the win vs Blackburn at Christmas!!) its getting a bit... frustrating as an away day attendee. I have a home ticket and I was made painfully aware of how far we've fallen when i...

Re: Match Thread - Sheffield United (H) - 6 Aug 2016. 15:00.

Didn't they have a header which Howard saved by simply sticking his arm up and the ball went over for a corner. That was an effort on target. Was it going in or across goal? Opta stats claimed Sheff Utd only team to have no efforts on target yesterday. Is that because we defended well or that they ...

Re: Match Thread - Sheffield United (H) - 6 Aug 2016. 15:00.

Great start, how much was down to their poor finishing as opposed to our great defending? Ha, I'll take it whatever. That's football and their problem. If we always finished our chances well ( think Madine last season) and hadn't given soft last minute goals away we'd still be in the Championship. ...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru

Talksport reporting Everton lining up 2nd bid for holding after initial one of £10m was rejected. I imagine it's a crock of shit. As if we'd have turned a bid like that down! Christ, I think we'd probably sell for 2M. And why would anyone bid that to a skint club heading to league 1? I though...

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

Needs must indeed, it's great that the club was able to have these programs when it could afford to (and even in the last few years when it couldnt') but if they are cut it doesn't mean that they couldn't come back in the future...

Re: Hello... Spurs fan here, please don't shoot, I come in p

And as Spurs beat the scum by 3-0 I think we can give a cheer to WHL. 8) I'm guiltily torn. I'd rather Leicester won it now. Wouldn't be agin Spuds winning it next season. Spurs are probably the favourites for next season anyway now, they're clearly on the way up still and should be able to attract...

Well he'd still miss the goal when playing against them as well... It's not necessarily his efforts other than shots and headers it's that he can't hit a barn door nevermind a goal...

Re: New Owners, Lennon goes, who do you think want to replac

Firstly what make you think we will now be able to afford to sack a manager the incoming owners are obviously not loaded otherwise Eddie would have sold to them back in December (maybe wrong). When they first turned up they were going to use the stadium for concerts etc to raise money these people ...

Re: Sports Shield - New Owners (Probably)

I think caution is correct. However, it appears that sports shield were the only viable option to save the club from admin or extinction. I listened to DH on the Lion of Vienna podcast this morning (shudder) and on there he is asked if there will be any money available for signings beyond just free...

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr

When you say £14m package, it could be much more than that. The transfer fee alone was earlier mooted as being around £13m. Add on a contract for say three and half years, and even at £20k pw - which would be a skinny wage at that fee - you're looking at £3.5m basic, without bonuses for goals, appe...

I've never thought Lennon uses his subs properly... often they're way too late to have a meaningful impact on the game.

Forest just had a bloke sent off for 'foot up'. It was no higher than Hoopers was for the 3rd  *Insert comment about standard of refereeing in this country and in particular this league* We all think the same so I thought I'd make it as open to your own interpretation as possible... just like...
