Re: Cod Almighty or Fleetwood Cack? (H) Sat 2 Nov, 3pm

^^ Thanks. Yeah I've seen a few managers copying Pep's inverted full backs, Lee Johnson at Bristol City for one. Obviously those managers are focusing on breaking teams down when they have the ball. With Emmanuel, it is more his direction of travel that I find interesting, rather than any obvious, p...

Re: Cod Almighty or Fleetwood Cack? (H) Sat 2 Nov, 3pm

I really like how Emmanuel, when he goes round the opposition wide player, then often heads infield and attacks their defensive midfield, central defensive areas, as opposed to heading down the line. It happened more at Bristol than yesterday, due to him being forced to defend more, but I remember o...

Re: Cod Almighty or Fleetwood Cack? (H) Sat 2 Nov, 3pm

Awesome game of football. Really entertaining, both teams trying yo play creative, thoughtful football. - They had most of the ball, but we created the best chances. - Lowe, O'Grady, Dodoo all really good for us, the rest had solid games too. - Zouma is consistent. Looks like a really good prospect ...

Re: Trotting over the Yellowbellies to three points - Lincoln City (A) 26/10/19

Based on last night I wouldn't break up Earl and Zouma, they appeared to really complement each other. Lincoln have been on a terrible run since the Cowleys left, curiously a 2-0 win against Sunderland being the only win in a run of W1 D2 L4, including a 0-6 home defeat against Oxford. Win this and ...

Re: Laughing gas or tear gas? Bristol Rovers (A), Tue 22 Oct 2019 7.45pm

Yep Dodoo and COG definitely added a lot, especially defensively with their strength and athleticism. Dodoo has to be our first choice wide player at the moment. Verlinden might be an alternative to COG when we need a more attacking mode, although i do think a solid, experienced character like COG i...

Re: Laughing gas or tear gas? Bristol Rovers (A), Tue 22 Oct 2019 7.45pm

What a wonderful away performance! As I was entering the ground Matthews was making an excellent save, and there was a calamitous mix up where their striker had been gifted the ball and just had to get it over Matthews and in to the net to score. Luckily he just about cleared the bar. After that we ...

You mean "Keith has stopped the leaking" ICB? Please don't use swear words around here. You're setting me off again NURSE, NURSE :) I remember Verlinden created a really good chance in the 2nd half for Murphy, who had his shot blocked? Generally though I agree that the wide players didn't create eno...

Re: I wish I'd never left Bolton...v Blackpool H. 8-0 clock 7-10-19.

Good that. If we can get a win, we could go on a run. Dodoo could be useful, a good variation on our other wingers, he looks more direct if likely to be often inaccurate.

Zouma, Chicksen, Hobbs, Lowe, Crawford all look good. Murphy looks like he can score. Optimism here...

^^ Agree on Bridcutt. He gave his first three passes away, but no doubt a big loss in general.

From 15mins of him, Graham looks better than what I saw earlier in the season when Lowe and L.Murhpy played in there

Fairly happy with that. We matched them, and look fit enough to get stronger as it went on. Just need a bit more in the final third....

Re: Jack fell down and Hill came tumbling after. Sunderland @ Home. 21/09/2019 3pm

The spirit is back! Great atmosphere and great fight from the team. We looked lacking in fitness and were trying to manage the game through the last 15mins of the first half and the last 25mins of the second. When you try and keep the ball you can have breathers though, and we almost managed it. In...

Sounds really encouraging that. Good to hear we defended when we had to, and created some chances. Sounds like Hill learned lessons from Saturday. Yes :oyea:

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

I wonder if 3-5-2 would suit our squad better? Wright and Hobbs wouldn't be as exposed, we already have attacking full backs, and we could play two smaller guys up front, or when the strikers are fit, give them some support given they are older and have missed some training? Something like: Matthews...

Re: Will Hill thrill us at the Millers? Rotherham (A) Sat 14 Sep, 3pm

Looking purely at the highlights, most of the goals seem to be down Hobbs / Wright not dealing with basic balls into the box, or getting close enough to their centre forwards?
