Re: Portsmouth away, 4th August
My old man rang me once from holiday asking if we'd signed some foreign striker. He'd seen a young girl in his hotel with a Wanderers shirt on and '9' 'Lucy' on the backohjimmyjimmy wrote:Ah i remember that time i thought we'd signed a player called 'A. Trialist'
I thought he was french or something!

Re: Pre-season 2012
I seem to remember someone on here posting about a squash champion who was British. I'd never heard of him but he trained something like 14 hours a day and often took to sleeping in the gym just to become the World champion. That doesn't sit easily with a footballer who can retire comfortably on the...

Made the mistake of accompanying a mate running over Rivington & Belmont this morning. He's due to do a 100mile race over the Pyrenees at the end of this month for the 2nd year running  Usually theres a few others to rein him in a bit but today it was just the two of us. If I hadn't started m...

Wonderful performance from Murray. If it all ended today I'd be delighted, yet we've still got a few more possible Golds to come. This is just getting better and better

Was it worth waiting for ? :D Great meeting up with you, Gary the Enfield, William the White and, well, Chris the Bolton I suppose :D Glad I'd wussed out when I realised that you had to do the hill three times  Was thinking, too. Yesterday will have been further than 5K. Usually you start by...

Best: A toss up between the £7000 I spent taking a career break and going off travelling, or the £85 I was charged by the Dogs Home to bring my little lad home. Worst: Ignoring my obvious lack of telent on the guitar and spending the best part of £200 on a banjo. It's in the back bedroom now gather...

It's been brilliant so far. The support for the home athletes has been superb and there is a definite feeling of togetherness around the whole thing. Our athletes come across as a right nice modest bunch too. The rowing lass this morning who was in a stunned state from crossing the line to getting u...

I've never taken much notice of pre season friendlies but 0-3 against a side who could only name 7 players before hand? The manager questioning committment? I'm currently trying to drown out the screams of "crisis" inside my head
