Re: The athletics/running thread

Got GtE coming over for the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k in 3 weeks. Should be a good do. Some very fast runners turn up for it and usually 2-3000 overall. Out of town to the ruins of Kirkstall Abbey and back. Trying to tempt Bruce and BP. I was well up for it when you first mentioned it around 6 weeks ago...

How does Maguire get in this England team when Ben White Is sitting at home on his backside?

Maguire can’t even get into the United team, yet somehow is first choice for England! 🤷‍♂️

Been watching The Capture starring the lovely Holliday Grainger. Entertaining if not brilliant. Bit of police action, spy stuff and a hint of Black Mirror dystopia.
What's that on LE?
BBC
I'm not bothered what you're into mate. I was asking what channel the programme's on

Re: Oldham V Chesterfield

Not to make too much of this, but it's hardly headline stuff. One of our own almost came to blows on pitch after an elbow in the face just a few days ago. There's no excuse for this sort of thuggery ever, but football is a melting pot for aggression ( remember Eric Cantona?) and the length of time ...

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever

Feel like we have been mugged off here. We seem to give everyone away on free transfers these days. Not to happy about him going to Chelsea either. Guaranteed hatrick against us next time they play us  Arteta wanted him out. That was clear from the programme on Prime. The only way to do that ...

Douglas Luiz scores direct from a corner for Villa against Arsenal. Now where have I seen that before? 🤔

Re: Heroes and Villans: Aston Villa (H, Lge Cup 2) Tue 23 Aug @7.45pm

Highlight according to my mate watching it at work was a crowd shot pre game showing a full screen Burnden Paddock folding his arms and looking moody. Unfortunately I missed this as I drove over for the game 😁. 😂 I thought we gave a decent account of ourselves in the first half, goal aside. For all...

Sensational pass and finish for our goal, but there’s an air of inevitability about it now. Hope I’m wrong!
So glad I was wrong. Well done, England!

I wish we could see out the last 5 minutes with a 1 goal lead as well as that!

Great pic though LE! Good luck to you both for Wednesday.

Terry Neill. Bit before my time as Arsenal manager but took us to 3 cup finals in an era when we didn’t win much! I had the programme from 2 of those cup finals (78/79 & 79/80), which may still be in the loft at my mums along with the one from 80/81. You beat us 3-0 at your place in the 79/80 cup r...

Re: Tonight's Football

Superb performance and wiped the floor with the number 2 ranked team in the world. Russo surely has to start the final! If that backheel had been scored by any player from the ‘big 4’ sky would be creaming themselves for months! Good back heel but keeper should surely have done better. Nice to see ...

Re: General Chit Chat

This did remind me of seeing a toy in the catalogue that I asked to have for my 8th (?) birthday. It caused much hilarity at the time as it was called 'Girls world'. It was basically a female head and you got to style and colour the hair. It looked ace! However, my early dreams of being a hairdress...
