Re: What are you watching tonight?
^ Ronin is one of my all-time favourite films and I must have watched it half a dozen times. It has been said that I have a passing resemblance to Jean Reno, or perhaps it is he that looks like me.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Its been a good two weeks for theatre with two visits to the Octagon and two visits to Home, but the Octagon is by far the best! Last night we were there for Two 2, the follow-up to Two set in the same premises some 15yrs after the original. I'll keep it brief because I run out of superlatives for t...

I see Colin has fetched up at Rotherham until the end of the season. That's probably a good shout by them.
(I knew I'd find a thread about him if I looked hard enough!)

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I'm genuinely a bit lost on what the problem is. This is the best explanation I've found: Imagine you and your friends are all sat around a table eating chips. Suddenly Jeremy Hunt comes along…. JH: Oooh, those chips looks nice, mind if I have a taste? You: Er, okay I guess. JH: Hmm, I’m not sure a...

The new series of Happy Valley tonight. I'll be staying up to watch it in grain-o-vision. belting return wasnt it! although the obviously increased budget is being wasted on stupid sweeping ariel scene opening shots... Watched it last night. A superb set-up. Didn't really notice these big sweeping ...

This is a portrait of a model Mrs C and the class had last week. So far she is only on her second visit. I'll put some paintings up when time permits:

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Unexpected afternoon off so went to the Odeon at the Trafford Centre where we watched The Big Short. Excellent film that dramatised the 2008 crash in a way I could (mostly) understand. Absolutely frightening what was going on and they saved the most frightening thing of all to the very end of the fi...

The storm currently battering the south was chillingly forewarned by John Lennon in 1971 when he wrote "Imogen there's no Devon."

Re: The Painting Thread... (as opposed to art debate)
It is indeed watercolour, but has many layers. Mrs C mostly does watercolour, so well remembered Mr T, and also likes to 'mess around' with drawing. She went to life drawing sessions for a year or so and now attends a portrait class every week in addition to a painting class. I'm just delighted to ...

Re: The Painting Thread... (as opposed to art debate)
I know Mrs Clapton paints watercolours as he's mentioned it before, but I'd say that was watercolor anyway at a guess. I'll be happy to be corrected... It looks a tad too 'layered' for watercolour to me Tango. I can almost see the palette knife effect. But I am viewing it on a tiny phone screen, an...

Same water but taken from near the Pike.
This was a photo I took years ago, converted to a painting by my wife and I've now photographed it to show here, so the quality has not quite made the trip.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Went to Home last night, which is a pretty silly name for the new theatre and cinema complex replacing The Cornerhouse in Manchester. It's just a two minute walk from Castlefield. The building itself is very modern with a great buzzy atmosphere to it. You can eat there before a show, of course, and ...

R.I.P Louise! A close friends family member.. Shocked!!! Sorry to hear this. In Quebec we have a 'duty to rescue' law because our charter of rights includes the right to aid when in peril. Rescuers are covered by the 'Good Samaritan' law. Does the UK have any such obligation to render assistance? I...
