Re: This weeks RIP's........
Terry Neill. Bit before my time as Arsenal manager but took us to 3 cup finals in an era when we didn’t win much! He'd fit right in now then if he hadn't passed away! Odd record. Manages Spurs, leaves them to take over Arsenal, has a bit of success and then sacked at 41 and never goes back into man...

Re: Tonight's Football
Superb performance and wiped the floor with the number 2 ranked team in the world. Russo surely has to start the final! If that backheel had been scored by any player from the ‘big 4’ sky would be creaming themselves for months! Good back heel but keeper should surely have done better. Nice to see ...

Re: Tonight's Football
We are in France at the moment but hoping to get to watch somehow. Be such a big boost for womens football in England if we could make the final. I’m not a fan of international football generally but find it much easier to get on board with the womens team then the mens!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Well done young GG! What is "standing triple jump?" just for this oldie? Is it like triple jump without the hop, skip and jump which makes it the triple jump, so it'd be just "jump" :-) Same but without run up. Ta! Must say I never really "got" the triple jump... :-) What LE said ^ , kids don’t do ...

Well done to her - you must all be very proud.
4th year juniors. For one more day! I’m going to be an absolute wreck this time tomorrow.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Gutted I didn’t get to watch it live. Fantastic achievement. I may not have run this week but I did compete in track and field (badly) at the weekend so that ‘achievement’ is justifying my 2 plus icecreams a day habit at the moment. Also, junior GG turned her attentions from cricket to athletics la...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Not angry just slightly, possibly irrationally, annoyed. Took my youngest dog on the school run this morning. She’s a small to medium sized shaggy mongrel with a friendly face. Queuing to get into the playground and she sniffs the scooter of the pre schooler in front of us. Pre schooler cries out th...

Re: Tonight's Football
I actually missed it as at the pub this evening but I gather it was a bit of a drubbing. Another 3 for Mead. Tougher matches to come. Son wanted to go to this one as in Brighton but we couldn’t get tickets. I read this a lot - There were probably 8-10k empty seats Same at a lot of the games. Offici...

Re: General Chit Chat
This did remind me of seeing a toy in the catalogue that I asked to have for my 8th (?) birthday. It caused much hilarity at the time as it was called 'Girls world'. It was basically a female head and you got to style and colour the hair. It looked ace! However, my early dreams of being a hairdress...
