Re: Sky Blue Sinking - Coventry (H) 22/11

You can tell it's nervy when you're watching the official Twitter account - not quite Pravda , but certainly positive - and 14 of the last 16 action descriptions, from the 65th minutes onwards, are at Alnwick's end. (The two of ours: one was Henry's curling shot, the other was Proctor running it in...

Re: Where are you going tonight?

Cat Stevens last night on my Birthday. He did a hell of a set, although TD would have been slightly disappointed at the lack of Lady D'arbanville. :) I guess he sees that number as too personal now and past history. Always be vintage Cat for me though. Glad you enjoyed it, he still has pelnty more ...

They lined them, wearing poppies, then played the Last Post while the horses looked on solemnly. Reminds me of an episode of Celebrity Weakest Link that was ultimately won by Edwina Currie. When asked which charity she was going to donate her prize money to she said 'a charity that builds war...

Re: Where are you going tonight?

Paul Simon last night, dude just did like 2hr 30m set without an intermission. Fair play! Nowhere better to see loads of white baby boomers dancing awkwardly. It was like a cruise or UKIP conference.

Got tickets this morning for De La Soul in March.

Another possibility is something went on with money input, that would've incurred an FFP penalty...They did say during take-over (or very shortly after) that the Accounts were pretty much ready... They said for ages, nearly....could be FFP related. They were discussing the accounts with the league....

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Just watched A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence. Absolutely brilliant. I don't know how to start to describe it beyond it being a crash course in every emotion. Oh, and where it's funny, it's very funny. A real look at your own life, those of those around you, and the traits we all ha...

F*cking poppy nonsense already. It gets earlier every year, I tell you. Have you any evidence to support this? See, I just find that this "poppy nonsense" starts when I choose to join in, if I choose to join in. By 'poppy nonsense' I'm guessing he means the faux-outrage you get every year if someon...

Re: General Chit Chat

Black Sabbath are still touring? I saw their 'Final Bow' in 1999 at the NEC. Damn them for going back on their word. Just scored tickets for Radiohead at the Arena next July and Grandaddy at the Albert Hall. 2003 called and wants its gigs back.   Ahhh, didn't think Grandaddy...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

^ had that very discussion today. Lass at work reckons the girl on the train film is as good as the book. I couldn't think of a time I'd ever heard that said before and I've never experienced it. certainly never heard it about that film, everything/body ive seen/heard has said the book is miles bet...

Excellent run well done.

Just to add to some letters apparently we have an LBGTQA network at work....I can get as far as T without making non-politically correct stuff up about the last 2... Q is queer. It's been reclaimed. A could be Asexual or Ally. Here is the full list, all completely valid. Of course. LGBTTQQIAAP (les...

Re: The athletics/running thread

How was the decathlon 5k? Managed my half marathon in 2.01:40. Was aiming for sub 2 but still really chuffed with that. Superb effort, Beefo. Well in, mate. The Decathlon was pretty tough due to the conditions, It pissed it down all the way round so there was a lot of standing water on the parts of...

I know the guy is a loon and it'll be damn scary if he wins but the Beebs coverage of this presidential election has been so biased it's untrue. This morning an interview with Pamela Anderson on R5, who's brought a book about sex out, suddenly turned into a what's wrong with Trump piece. Undoubtedl...

Re: NFL

Absolutely Atlanta look the real deal. Not sure beating the Broncos was a huge shock. Superbowl winners are usually broken apart bit by bit in the following seasons (aren't they?). The form of the Panthers is the big shock (I think Atlanta has defeated them this season too?) considering how good th...
