Re: League 1 Fixture List 2022/23

Tough start
Up till end of September
I think 7 out of 11 were top half last season

Happy if we are top 6 at that point

We have less players to sign this summer - I’d be looking at the Plymouth keeper who got in last seasons team of the season over the lad from Portsmouth if we can’t sort Trafford.
Is the Pompey keeper not another City loanee? One place above Trafford in their pecking order

Re: Deal or no deal? - Summer 2022 Transfer gossip!

Traf has made the England U21s squad, which is great for him, but also indicates his good form has not gone unnoticed and perhaps doesn’t bode well for our chances of getting him back. That would be a shame Is he not 6th choice at City? So still looking for suitable loan placement Unless some of th...

Re: Where will we finish?

Glad they’ve gone up. Fancy us to finish above Wycombe next year. It's for the best. My sense of natural justice meant I'd ideally prefer the other Wanderers to get promoted but naked self-interest dictates that today's result is the better one for us. Agree with all this It’s all our fault If we h...

Re: Deal or no deal? - Summer 2022 Transfer gossip!

I'd be disappointed if we were in for Platt tbh, would have thought we would be aiming a little higher. A 'jobs for the boys' signing if ever there was one. Evatt knows him and what he can do. He must rate him, and have a specific role in mind for him. That cuts down the risk. Looks like a squad sig...

Re: Deal or no deal? - Summer 2022 Transfer gossip!

We are being linked to Zech Medley....finally. Precisely that, you'd expect. Evatt talks about character and that shows it, I'd suggest. Wants to prove himself. What it does mean is we need another centre half in and it gives us a chance to get one in who suits our style of play. Someone like Zech ...

Remarkable table

Seven teams with at least 80 points

Has that ever happened before?

Re: Deal or no deal? - Summer 2022 Transfer gossip!

Has got good L1 experience, a good character by the sounds of things, a solid defender and can play with the ball at his feet. Not the most athletic though, so might not be a great replacement should Santos leave but I’d think he’d be an upgrade on Aimson. My question this summer is going to be "Wo...

Re: "Not necessarily in the right order" .Home v Morecambe, Tuesday, March 8th, 8-0'clock

Results really didn't go for us either. Too many decent solid teams between 4th and 10th. I'm still sticking with 8th because we'll win a few more. Could hardly have been a worse set of results. Agree that 8th is still the most likely finish As you said there are too many teams to climb past. It’s ...

Re: Where will we finish?

Nowhere near so scientific
I think that 76 points will get in the playoffs
But that we may only get to 73

Home 5 wins 2 draws
Away 2 wins 2 draws. 2 losses

I hope I am wrong

Re: Where will we finish?

I can see us ending above Wycombe or Plymouth but still missing out behind Sheffield Wednesday or Ipswich
They are both on a good run

Our games against Sheffield and Plymouth are as important as MK Dons

Re: Where will we finish?

Looks like we need 77-79 points to reach the playoffs. We’re on 48 so split the difference and call it 30 from 15 games. 2ppg - steep but doable. It’s 10 wins from 15. Pick your 10. Sadly, we only have 13 games left 10 wins from 13 is a tough ask That would make it 16 from 21 - title winning form

Re: Where will we finish?

We can win this league next year. So long as everyone stays levelheaded and focussed. You look at our strikers. You won’t get a better 4 strikers in this league. So I’d say with confidence that if we keep this lot together . And make a few sensible additions or replacements we will have a real chan...

We're on 45 points with 17 games left. We'll need around 74 to get in the play offs. 😲
9 wins I suspect is what we need. And the odd draw.

Unlikely not impossible. We need no injuries.
Surely it is 15 games left
Still need 9 or 10 wins
A big ask but not impossible

The four teams directly below the play-offs all won (us, Ipswich, Plymouth, Sheff Wed). Apart from Rotherham, who won at Wimbledon, the top six had an awful night: Wigan L, McDons D, Sunderland L, Wycombe D. Top half's tightening up... who's got the arsehole for it? . Made hard work of that. Great result. Aimson MOTM. Think that's not a bad shout. I had it between him and Charles and good show from Traf & Santos mind we could have had 4 from Morley's free kicks. Quite a few absentees playing tonight...Still 3 points, we'll have 'em thanks Morley's free kicks wer...

Re: A Tutu won't do. V Cambridge at the Unibol Tues Feb 1st, 8-0'clock. 1

If we are to develop players, as you are correctly advocating, a number of fans are going to have to be more patient with players as we go through that process. But regardless I think there will be plenty of patience. But if the game is signing players not quite ready but to develop then Evatt need...
