Re: Burnley vs Bolton
Think the serious lack of TV appeal for the Championship is what hurts the most about the drop. To be honest, that was a key consideration when it came to buying a ST. Being able to watch games down the Conny and/or watching mahoosive highlights on Sky are no longer an option. :( Oh, and welcome to...

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Well I like road kill as well as anybody. What do you do with the bike though? Ha ha - I am tempted sometimes when you see 3 or 4 of these "Lycra louts" cycling 2-3 abreast and you want to get past! I was always taught to cycle in single file for your own safety, but these swine don't seem to care ...

Re: The Olympics
To be honest, they could let Jedward do an hours rapping to close the thing & it still wouldn't take anything away from what has been a beltin fortnight. I was cynical before it started and was looking forward to a good whinge about the whole thing - but from the opening ceremony, the wonderful atmo...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Cheers guys - PB was definitely down to my workmate. I'm sure I would have been at least a minute slower if I hadn't been chasing him. A bit similar to last week Gary if I'm honest where I had to work hard to stay with you - we must do it again when you're back up - dragging Bruce, your Chris & WtW ...

Re: The athletics/running thread
Did the park run again this week. After last weeks 3 hill grueller it was back to normal today with a much bigger field. I was supposed to be doing it as a loosener for a 10k grand prix race tomorrow but just before the start I bumped into a bloke from work. He's a nice enough chap but really knows ...

My 38th season following the Whites this season. I think in this one sentence you've almost summed up the other 37 WorthyWorthy4England wrote:So all in all, not as bad as I feared, but not as good as I'd like.

Re: Football Kit Collections
After the Umbro shirts of 1977-1980 I don't think a shirt was available for fans to buy until around the time of the last Normid 1st reebok shirts (1988 ish)
If anyone has a shirt with 'Knight Security'or 'BEN' on it, it could be worth quite a bit

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Day off today. Mrs G & I went for a run in the sunshine up over the moors to the mast, down to Two lads, the quarry then back home via sausage and egg muffins at Curlys fisheries. Just doing something you love with someone you love - the best things in life really are free (although the sausage & eg...

Re: Class struggle in Spain
They controlled who got what ... & who didn't. The flying pickets were paid to attend and their families got the food & clothes. The people who questioned anything were cut out. The Committee members themselves did very nicely out of it. It was hey-day for the thugs and their friends. It really sur...

I'm not suggesting it was "legally" dodgy, but I can understand Souness thinking "Not much fcuking point here". I may have mis remembered this but didn't Souness say Curtis was actually sat in on the interview? I'll sort this out. Straight out four-way fight to the death, Gary Megson, Mark Curtis, ...

Re: Class struggle in Spain
Two reasons ; i. The Police always have had a few psychopaths in their ranks ii. The miners started it by their viloent picketing and intimidation of working colleagues. A proper study of the true reasons mining (& other mass strikes) are so unified show the Union solidarity to be only part of the ...
