^ haha! Yes, I have a false name I've given out so I instantly know it's a sales call, but that takes it to a new level. I think I'm going to be Baron Bon Richtoven from now on!

Angles Eagles will announce her leadership bid on Monday. Gawd help us. As an aside, if you tell a journo your going to announce your leadership bid, haven't you, in fact, announced it? Probably giving him one last chance to think about it over the weekend and resign. Not happening. Just seen him i...

Re: Joke thread
My wife found out that our dog (a Schnauzer) could hardly hear, so she took it to the vet's. The vet found that the problem was too much hair in the dog's ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could then hear again. The vet told Andrea that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go...

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
Beevers officially signed now. Two year deal. Megson tried to sign him whilst he was here. I'd have left that last line off, you just tied a ton of lead round his neck  He signed Cahill so Id argue a decent judge of a centre half. Seems like Beevers hasn't quite lived up to those early expecta...

What he "started off with" is neither hither nor yon. It's what he ended up with. Why's he so 'unelectable'? You knew exactly what you were getting. This is my question - why's he now being rounded on? Chilcot is due out and the Blairites want JC out of the way pronto. Rumbled! http://www.her...

Has anyone tried out Readly, the magazine subscription service? Looks great value at 80 quid for the year and access to 16000 magazines. I spend 20 quid each time I go to an airport in WHSmith. I'm trying to find the catch if there is one? Not sure if you've saved me a fortune or cost me a fortune,...

Re: What are you reading tonight?
I've just finished reading The Stone Man. Sci Fi novel set in the UK. Decentish read, intriguingly makes you wonder "what if", wasn't convinced by the ending though. Didn't seem to be setting it up for a sequel yet left some plot threads unresolved. Starting a non fiction book next. Wild: From Lost...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
This morning my gaffer's brought me in a DVD, a per pros nowt other than he thinks I'll enjoy it, a film called Conspiracy with Kenneth Brannagh and Colin Firth in it. As I'm clearly now obliged to watch it - is it any good? :conf: I think it's truly excellent. It's a dramatised account of the Wann...

Had a cracking day out today at Wray Castle in The Lakes where Sky Arts were filming Landscape Artist of the Year. There were only around 30 members of the public there and Sky made full use of us in filling in shots and we even got speaking parts at one stage. This is Frank Skinner relaxing between...

I've not been able to verify it but Bob Williamson, the Bolton comedian from the '70's died yesterday. The one of his that sticks in my mind was when one of his mates, Billy, died when he fell in a vat of boiling chocolate at work and all his mates sang "Billy, don't be an aero.", which kind of date...
