Re: Farting ban in Malawi...

Had lunch in Nawaab in Levenshulme yesterday (If you're into Indian food, give it a go, 12 quid for the all you can eat buffet - nice place, amazing food) and being a tad tight, decided I was going to get my 12 quids worth if it killed me. I walked out with enough heartburn to slay an elephant and w...

Re: Saviour XI

I can't belive no one has mentioned John O'Kane for right back. Goalkeeper would have to be Matt Clarke for me.............no wait, he WAS a saviour, we just couldn't afford the £1.5 million transfer fee. Post injury Geoff Chandler should get a shout as should Jamie Pollock for centre mid, possibly ...

Re: January transfer window...

With Elmo in mind, it seems to me that Coyle has something up his sleeve. He's been incredibly cool about losing his top goalscorer so far and whether that's a ploy to keep the agents from trying to double his wages come summertime or he has someone lined up as a replacement is anyone's guess. The b...

Re: The Trotters vs Mighty Russian Empire (Chelski away)

As a referee, I have to say that I would never have given the handball against Terry, his arm wasn't out from the body and it struck the upper part of the arm which was flat to his side. The standard of assistant refereeing this season has been appalling IMHO, sod's law that we get one who gets it r...

My reaction to this has changed markedly from what it would have been 12 months ago.

Now I can only manage an excited "Let the auction commence!".

Re: Goal Of The Decade

Best Obscure goal: Isiah Rankin Vs PNE Best away: VT vs Guimaraes (I still get cardiac arrhythmia just thinking about it) Best Home: Pederson vs Arsenal, chest and volley - gutted they dropped the commentary on that one from the ticket office holding 'music' Best Crowd pleaser: Equaliser against Lei...

Re: money bags v the trotters

Watched the match on dodgy sky in my local. For me, the stats for the match said it all. We only played at 12 to14 percent of our play down the wings, nearly everything going through the middle. If we were ever going to beat a team with Barry, Toure and De Jong in the centre of the park, we had to g...

Spot on for me WW. Think Nolan lost interest in the last 18 months with us and was only making up numbers as his heart clearly wasn't in it. He looked slow, overweight and never really had a good 90 minutes for us after being made Captain as far as I'm concerned. However, just for his passion after ...

Just been throught 3 of the Sunday papers and the Elmo goal gets barely a mention. He made Bergkamp's lauded goal for Arsenal look pedestrian and it gets no response. Had it been that tw4t Nani, Nasri or Torres who pulled that off, we;d be seeing it for years on TV. Great 3 points and I'm almost des...

I was 10 years old, listening to the commentary on my transistor radio whilst hidden underneath the bedclothes. When Whatmore scored I screamed into my pillow - I was meant to be asleep, see, and hardly slept a wink that night![/quote] Different bed, same scenario. Got a bollocking from my mum for s...

I can't say I'm convinced by the argument, we just end up failing to clear the ball or keep possession and get deeper and deeper......if we could physically get any deeper than 11 in the box. And Keane was inured, ankle knock apparently. Thank God, cos I for one wouldn't have liked to see him coming...

Something's been bugging me for weeks and it came to pass on Saturday again. In the dying few minutes, Spuds had a corner. 11 bolton shirts promptly stuffed themselves into our box to defend. What for the life of me I can't understand is why we keep doing this. Surely if we left Petrov or CYL on the...

Neither did SKD at Southampton or Millwall before we snapped him up. If I remember rightly, neither Djorkaeff or Okocha were ripping up any trees before they came to us.

He's not getting any match time at the moment, but for me he'd fit into our work ethic and play for the team.

I'd take a point now and a quick word (With slim brown envelope) between OC and Harry for Keane's signature come January. Robbie Keane? Seriously? I'd rather not. Seriously? You wouldn't? Because he's no better than what we've got? We don't need a proven Prem goalscorer? He wouldn't add to our crea...
