Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....

Watching the highlights program tonight, I noticed that in his post-match interview Gary Rowett referred to them knowing that our formation would leave spaces that they could exploit. No doubt he's referring to the space behind our wing-backs and the space between our midfield three and our forwards...

I don't know about getting knocked off the ball, we were nowhere near it, we were chasing shadows most of the 1st half

We were knocked off the ball a few times, and we also let them glide past us with without much difficulty.

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....

Having said all that, there's really no excuse for so many of our lads getting knocked off the ball so easily.

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....

Our midfield get a nose bleed going over the half way line....same with the mythical wing backs (who still play as fullbacks in an ultra defensive back 5).... so they are either really unfit and can't get forward because they are fcuked OR Parkinson tells them to play this way - in a similar way to...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

I didn't realised that we had quite so much depth! Cullen is a central midfielder, more of a creative type than Spearing I believe. Burke is a centre-back. Both have worked with Parky before. Has it actually been confirmed anywhere that there's gentleman's agreement to renew after the first six mont...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

Two good signings, just need a left back and another striker and I think we'll be set. I’ve got a really good feeling about them as well. I know that we should always take the opinions of other supporters with a pinch of salt, but there does seem to be a unanimous verdict among them that they’ll do...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Racking up a huge, insurmountable lead before declaring enrages Shane Warne, and thereby provides all the justification needed for doing so.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

HAHAHAHASIF Amos is our most highly paid player. F*ck me, 8 good games on loan and we throw 4 years and a five-figure P/W contract at him. And we still had Bogdan and Lonergan on the books - more expensive weren't they? Bogdan had gone by then, and I think that we pretty much offered Amos the contr...

Re: Pre-season fixtures 2017

How'd we set up? Howard, Dervite, Wheater, Beevers, Darby, Vela, Karacan, Pratley, Andrew Taylor, Madine, Le Fondre. 3-5-2 with Darby and Andrew Taylor as the wing-backs. I thought that Darby played well, but that he's a full-back rather than a wing-back. I'd be slightly disappointed if we pick the...

Re: Pre-season fixtures 2017

Well I'm here, and I can't really report anything we don't already know. We're still crying out for that that player who can be the bridge between the midfield and the forwards. The lack of a such a player means that either Madine drops deeper or Le Fondre pushes wide to create a bit of space. That ...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )

So in short, he shouldn't comment on team matters and he shouldn't tell us to spend money... I'm just wary of where it all leads. If it's a benign statement along the lines of "the result at the weekend wasn't what we wanted" or "we didn't play as well as we have in recent weeks" then it's probably...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )

The below is an excerpt from today's column (which can be found here ). “On Saturday, we had our toughest workout of the pre-season so far against a Fleetwood Town side whom we know performed very well last season in League One and fought all the way. That said, it was disappointing that we didn't c...

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017

Nixon is reporting that we've made a big offer to Jason Lowe. He's also reported the thing about Turner, who he describes as a 'future number one for club and country'.

Re: Pre-season fixtures 2017

I wasn't there but from the reports it sounds as though we're still suffering from the same problem that we've had since Mark Davies got injured - we have no who can beat a man/link the midfield and the forwards in the middle. This is no surprise, as we haven't yet signed that type of player. Perhap...

Re: Young lads that went to Scotland

Related to this thread, Iles has written a timely article in the BN about who might and who might not break through. The most interesting thing to note is that he confirms what we thought about the restrictions under the transfer embargo, and the implications that that has on the development of our ...
