Re: The athletics/running thread
Got GtE coming over for the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k in 3 weeks. Should be a good do. Some very fast runners turn up for it and usually 2-3000 overall. Out of town to the ruins of Kirkstall Abbey and back. Trying to tempt Bruce and BP. I was well up for it when you first mentioned it around 6 weeks ago...

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever
Was at the derby today! Very happy gooner after. Hate spurs, love beating them and we played well too. Brilliant atmosphere. Top of the league. Not felt so content supporting my team for a while. I’m sure it won’t last so enjoying it whilst it does (Yes Richard Keys, I am allowed to) but the potenti...

Just back from Pilates which is pretty much the only exercise I do these days save walking a lot of steps week days in general life/work. Still have zero motivation to run, need to start playing football with the lads again Mondays but cba even with that at the moment. How’s everyone else getting on?

Hope for the future. England under 21's (with out lad Trafford in the nets) beat Germany 3-1, the last one in extra time, after being 1-0 down first half. . Too many unfamiliar names and subs to make individual comments, but before substitutions (a whole host from both teams) Garner and Balogun sp?...

More importantly Tango, did you see Tony Adams with the best dance I’ve ever seen on Strictly? Admittedly I don’t really watch it much but they might as well just cancel the rest of the series and give him the trophy now. Nothing will top that!

I’d have Ramsdale, distribution way better then both the other options.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 12:09 pmA bit harsh here I think, Tango.
Sure, he made a mistake for their equaliser, but I'd have Pope in goal way ahead of Pickford.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
The funeral. History in the making. I only intended to watch parts of it, but it was so impressive a display. That was some tiring walk for those involved. Nobody does pomp like the Brits. Yes, a proper send off. Some cracking hymns and all the pomp and circumstance you’d expect from Great Britain....

Struggled around 4.5K yesterday with oldest son. The realisation that he’s only going to get faster and I’m only going to get slower was slightly depressing. Not necessarily. I'm 55 and regularly running against (and bettering) people 30 years younger. Not because I'm a good runner. LE is consisten...

Track and field season finished now in the gooner girl house with the twins U13 team doing very well in the Sussex final today, competing against the big boys of Brighton, Crawley etc. I had a disastrous season - put it down to old age and no training, but finished 11th in the country for triple jum...

Re: General Chit Chat
Probably depends on the kid, and maybe their age. My dad used to do that with my brother (though when he was a teenager) but it was a bit of fun rather than a "contract". I wasn't any danger. He’s 7, and really good. I might occasionally treat mine to a McDonald’s or something after a swim gala or ...
