Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/16326611.jason-lowe-on-value-of-boltons-scotland-training-camp/ Now Ily Billy is saying no new signings until THIS Saturday. As David Brent would say: This has been a wash out, none of best people have turned up Think you're reading something that isn't there. S...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

If Amos wasn't on (for us) a huge deal I think he'd be there pushing for a starting spot again. Whatever went on with him mentally, he's not a bad player. As for signings and people "jetting in" for trials, I love a bit of speculation but I'll wait for the shirt and smiles pictures before getting at...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

I don't trust any agent as far as I can throw them, including the current owner. I've nothing against anyone, but nothing will get me "believing" until everything is signed and official. Mendes or anyone else, if they bring sensible investment, is welcome. I'll not hold my breath.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

We've been trying to get Miguel Veloso to Bolton for about 10 years, if you buy the rumours. If it finally happened I'd probably die laughing.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Never in a million years are Garner and Alf attacking mids. They're just about the most strikery strikers who'll ever strike.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Were he 26 and on a free we'd get nowhere near him. What can (hopefully) be taken from this is that we are actively in the hunt for a proper centre forward. I do wonder how we are intending to play, though. Are we sticking with one up top or moving to a two? Donaldson, Alf + another experienced stri...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Garner was piss poor at a couple of clubs, but has generally had a very solid career. Remains to be seen how badly that fractured skull has affected him, but given that he's seen as having had a poor season at Ipswich and still has 1 in 3 I'd welcome him. Another local lad too, along with Lowe. Shou...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Teemu Pukki on a free to Norwich was good business. I'd not have minded him.

It's hot. I was supposed to have finished building the new chicken run by the weekend, but beer and chicken happened. Give it time.
Well, that's one way of solving the problem!

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Right it's the weekend in the UK where are the "couple of signings" we were promised. Never mind Parky's Wishful 8 I want at least a pair of pitch-grinning shirt-stretchers! We're doing okay thus far, considering. Re-signing Amoebi was a big hurdle and gives us a bit of stability. Lowe comes in in ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Jake Kean, one of those professional back-up keepers. Nobody knows anything about him because he only exists to sit on benches. I'm told he has excellent posture, so sign him up.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Rodwell was, a few years ago, where Loftus-Cheek is now. Very similar players. Rodwell's career totally collapsed. The question is whether that is totally final or whether, at 27(?), he can come at least close to being the international-class player he was supposed to be. I'm prepared to trust PP's ...

We're "looking" at Jack Rodwell now, according to Nixon.
He's been shocking since he left Everton. Clearly has ability, but he's nowhere close to any level at the moment. Something must have gone on.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Akpan and Lowe don't make me too excited as a pairing. It's a bit too "Dougie Freedman" for me. I'd not mind both in the squad, but I'd want a more creative partner for them in there. EEL would be a signing I'd like. We could use a powerful athlete at the back. Beevers and Wheater are too slow as a ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

If you watch the video on the BWFC official site you can see one MYSTERY athletic big guy without a sportsbra doing the drills. We could do with his size, apart from Wheevers we really are a pack of lightweights. Lost Wilbs, Pratley and Henry. Need some muscle. Centreback? Or TS? Is that not the sa...

Yeah maybe Akpan! Hope so... Need the muscle like I said.
Yeah, but a range of passing wouldn't hurt either.

If we sign Jaoa Teixeira we are good for tricky buggers. We need a guy in midfield who can find them.
