Re: The athletics/running thread
Did our Sport Relief "mile" thing on Sunday. 5.6km apparently. 28.19 for me. Have a whole load of excueses ready to trot out, but actually quite relieved to get round alive, given my less than ideal "preparation" in the bar on Friday and Saturday night (and day).

Re: The athletics/running thread
Managed to drag my Wanderers shorts and Movember facial abomination round the streets of Delhi a few Sundays ago. It was the Delhi Half Marathon and it was my first run of any note since "Agony 'ill" on the Canon Slade cross country course more years ago than I care to remember, so was just glad to...

Re: Where are you going tonight?
demolition man octagon anyone seen it? Yes. I saw it. I don't think there's a play in Fred Dibnah's life. There's a lot of events but not much at stake. We have a grumpy old git and a younger wife being patient with him. One or two moving moments, but a disappointment in a season that's offered a h...

Re: Fred Titmus
Heard Boycott talking about Fred Titmus on the radio yesterday. I never knew about Titmus's accident - when he was on tour in the Windies, his foot got caught by a boat propeller, and he lost four of his toes. Ouch! Within two months, he was bowling again.

Re: Reserves......
Not much to add to the two fairly comprehensive reports above. Just a few musings:- - Bolton were far more superior to City than 3-2 would suggest. - The injuries did mar the game. The physios and stretcher-bearers earned their money. Two of the City ones looked particularly serious. It certainly af...

Posh Cinema
Have tried googling, but can't quite find what I want.
I'm trying to track down where you can do the posh cinema thing. Leather sofas, food and drinks brought to your seat, no common people in the vicinity, that sort of thing.
Anyone got any links? Anyone done this sort of thing? Was it worth it?

Re: Where are you going tonight?
I don't think theres a problem with the production of alcohol William. Morroco certainly produces. You can even cook with it, as long as the alcohol is boiled or burned off. Its no coincidence that many of the Middle East/North African wine producing nations have a French Colonial heritage or influ...

Some place called Label on Deansgate (the Mancunian rather than Boltonian version).
Never been there myself. Anyone know if it's any good?

Well, apart from Strangeways and Anderton, I've never even heard of all these wonderful old named places, and would have no idea where they were, now I'd be fairly confident, so I guess so people know where they is 'what they acheive' and I'd suggest that mightly a slightly more valuable attribute ...

. . . . the standardisation / anonymisation (is this a word?) of names of places. All the evocative and comforting real names are disappearing. I want to stop at Forton Services, not Lancaster Services. "London Gateway Services"? F*ck off - it's Scratchwood Services. Strangeways isn't allowed any mo...

On a side note, a friend of mine is helping John McGinlay write his autobiography (although when it's coming out is anyone's guess...) McGinlay is still good friends with Coyle, and apparently he (Coyle) was considered before we appointed Megson. McGinlay is, however, convinced that Coyle will mana...
