Re: General Chit Chat

Geez, TANGO, I wouldn't mind a bit of that. I'm well and truly out of practice. :stalker:

Don't laugh, Spotty, we once had an MP in our State Parliament named Richard Head. :)

I echo, TANGO, the sentiment of our friend of the Iberian peninsula. I thank you for my delayed readings of your past contributions to 'game days'. I have often wondered, my friend (we are still are we not?), how you managed to pump out to the 'net what you did.

THANK YOU.

Wow, TANGO, I didn't expect that response. Shut down the thread and demand the Admin to do that? From which side of the waterbed did you disembark yesterday?

Thanks to Bruce and Pru for supporting my opinion. :)

Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

Yes, TANGO, the position of sunrise and sunset varies daily. Where I live the variation is from roughly northeast in winter and southeast in summer. Likewise sunset varies from northwest in winter and south west in summer. Those directions are at the extremes of the apparent travel of the sun. Your ...

Re: LIVE LOCAL FOOTBALL SAT AUG 3

Come on chaps, Lancashire Lad's doing no harm. More than just a few on here have been to watch Chorley at Victory Park when we were 'gameless' and enjoyed a fine afternoon mingling with the Magpies' fans. From what I have read those who did attend remarked on the family friendliness of the venue and...

Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

To you, TANGO, and your star map question. The majority of star maps that include your part of the northern hemisphere and are centred roughly on your location put you at the centre of the map and are marked outside the circle, which indicates your horizon (excluding obstructions) with the four card...

Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

Spotty, is this the unit of which you speak? http://www.flybird.co.uk/helios_evostar_458_2.htm It looks like a decent sort of kit. If the objective lens (150mm) is tucked in the forward end of that tube, then it's a formidable piece of equipment, including a decent mount. Is chromatic aberration a p...

Ah, Spotty, you uneducated Europeans never cease to amaze me (no wonder some of you support Brexit) of course they are. Re: Science, Experiment, and the failure of Reality.

Of course it is, Spotty; Just like Isles' and others predictions published re the demise or otherwise of BWFC. As far as astronomy and cosmology is concerned I have always had reservations about the publishing of the Cepheid variable stars being used as a 'candle' and being incontrovertible. Likewis...

Re: Administration and recovery

I am, as Perfan used to say (she seems to be a retired member these days) "confuserated" BWFC or its holding companies relative to the ownership of both the Club itself and the White's hotel via other links to BWFC: In other words does the Club own the hotel? Or perhaps the other way around? Given t...

That was the flukiest win I recall for a result an any form of cricket. What the heck is this final resolution based on the number of boundaries scored by a side? It's worse than penalty kicks in football. :hang:

How about 'blow football', Spotty. Does a jet of air constitute a modified stick?

Crikey, until you posted that I hadn't thought about blow football for many a decade. Silly old me. :)

Re: Tennis, anyone.....?

Most of us here, TANGO, still think that he is a spoiled brat who wants attention, even though he is a damned good player and has, probably, the talent to make his mark in the world of tennis. Likewise, Bernard Tomic, another Australian. Perhaps they will go down in history as the "Terrible Twins". ...
