Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
I've gone through thoughts about that exact scenario and come to the belief that i'd be a little crazy to be thinking that.
They're a win away from taking the title. They're going to want to win it as much as we are.

Re: Five Year EFL Deal: Death of the 3pm?
As ever, money, investors, betting and corporations rule the game. Football actually has little to do with any of it. Might as well just flip a coin . Results, not performance or entertainment are the priority....How many of the EFL committee actually own a season ticket to any club, or go to any f...

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
Dream big, a Derby and Peterborough loss today and two wins for Bolton would give us the chance to get automatic promotion at home on our final home game of the season. Dreaming bigger, Portsmouth losing all their games would mean we'd have the chance to win the title on the final day of the season....

Re: Five Year EFL Deal: Death of the 3pm?
The business model is shifting towards being able to watch games online. They should probably embrace it, rather than fight it. I think it's difficult for lower league clubs to attract new supporters through an online streaming model. Of course, but its a damn site easier if they have the ability t...

Re: Getting hairy: Portsmuff at home 13/4/24 3pm KO
You'd have to imagine that would be the case with Dion on the bench. Certainly think that JDB and Collins combo has been well worth it so it would be a shame to disrupt that. Earlier in the season it seemed like JDB hadn't justified his contract extension but I thought that was down to lack of game ...

Five Year EFL Deal: Death of the 3pm?
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12873679/sky-sports-agrees-new-five-year-efl-deal-over-1000-matches-per-season Sky has bought the rights to the EFL meaning that clubs will get a 50% increase in value on the current deal. It means that Sky will broadcast the following: 328 Championship...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I wouldn't put money on me having one next year 😁 That sounds ominous. Hope all is well. ^ :-D Without wanting to sound unduly harsh, I do think Dan may develop into an ok player who will have his moments for us, but he was out of form and isn't going to have gotten any better while he was out with...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
They have 4 chances to do that though. They can play and be relatively relaxed. Will they match our intensity if we get into them early? Could work either way. The most points any other team can get is 93. Should we win that'll still mean they need to get 4 points to mathematically win the league. ...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Orient are still in with a (very) outside chance of playoffs. Totally out of their hands, like, but I can see them being well up for their match vs Derby. Course, we've got the hardest match of the weekend, against a Pompey side for whom victory could seal the whole damn season. But we've no need t...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Promotion back in our own hands. Need to keep winning to get promotion, which makes things slightly easier to think about rather than worrying about results elsewhere. Do the business and get promoted, its as simple as that. The games we've got are not going to be the easiest, but at least we've got...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Going into the playoffs in really good form is crucial. In which case Lincoln are clear favourites. If I have done the sums right they have 35 points out of the last 39 And scored 33 goals in that time Their last league match is home against Pompey. Lets hope Pompey still have something to play for...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Cant see Derby dropping anymore points. Thought Wycombe away for them would be our best bet, but with them losing the final, it will be hard for them to pick themselves up having nothing to play for now. Arguably our best bet is for them to drop points against Leyton Orient or Wycombe. Trouble is, ...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
We have to keep Derby looking over their shoulder. Make them a little nervous knowing if they don't win we will. They're all must win until mathematically we don't need to win for me. We definitely need to be winning to get the pressure on Derby. I do wonder however how much the timing of games imp...

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
Professional performance today, get the job done three points in the bag and move on. The importance of next week cannot be underestimated, win and I truly fancy us to grab second place. If we do end up in the play offs , looking at the other teams, I fear no one and would be confident of promotion...

Not a great showing, but good teams win while not playing well. Certainly felt that way today. It'll not go down as a classic, but its certainly good to see us getting the points.

Suspect we know who the penalty takers are by now, and Jerome's the one to help others. Doesn't seem like either would be likely to play out.
Caleb Taylor and Williams coming on. Appearance bonuses anyone?
