Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

Hadn't clocked until now that our first goal game from Sheehan getting leathered and bouncing up, taking a quick few kick playing a quick pass through three of them. Thomo -> Collins -> Vic -> Goal. Lovely to see. Collins the only player in EFL to register 20 goals and 20 assists since the start of...

Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

I'm not being negative.. Wigan were in front of us for 90 mins sitting in, not pressing, not expending energy. They were physically and mentally fresher in that second half than Barnsley were What I'm warning against is a new found belief that yesterday's last 30 mins is what we'll see every game we...

They'll think they owe us one and we should expect a tough game. I think (hope) we'll be buoyed by last night and win by the odd goal

Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

Without wanting to dampen anyone's spirits, or talk about why didn't we play like that against Wigan in the last 30.. Barnsley played with a ridiculous amount of energy in that first half. Chased everything, harried, pressured, tried to hit us, but ended up going the other way a bit (once again, we ...

Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

loved that. We absolutely battered them. unlucky not to win it. Unlucky not have been playing against 9 men for most of the 2nd half. Unlucky not to have had the opportunity to miss 3 penalties I'm delighted for the players, but fvck me, they look disgruntled with the fans. Most heading down the tun...

Cambridge have just appointed Garry Monk (insert Abbey jokes here). That's a great appointment for them and they've got Barnsley (a) and Derby (h) in their run in.

Agree with the Sheehan/Bax/JDC shortlist personally (in that order). Thomo has been excellent but missed too many games by his own hand to get in there for me.

Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

Genuine thanks DSB for putting the time into that post. The stats you very clearly laid out for us really outlines just how evenly matched the 2 teams are going into this game. A defeat would be gutting, obviously, but at the same time, away from home, it shouldn't be considered an Evatt Out moment ...

Re: Cam on, fear the noise: Cambridge (H) Sat 2 Mar 3pm

I was expecting to come on here and read about a composed, polished performance where we dominated our oponents without getting out of second gear, but instead it's a feckin doom fest. I'll do it instead. - Great for Coleman to get a clean sheet. He deserves it. Won us the points v Wycombe a few wee...

Not that bothered by this one really. We’ve lost the games I was bothered about this week. We’ll lose the next big game on Tuesday. What happens on Saturday feels like an irrelevance.
I'd say in that case, it's more crucial than irrelevant. Give em your backing!

I reckon there'll be a reaction here. It's crucial the fans remain patient and get behind the boys. If we do, we'll win 3 or 4-1

Aye, so you've been saying all season Insane...... If its a weak league then we are, sadly, part of that weakness. We've lost points to too many bottom-half teams, I admit that. We've conceded too many goals - especially soft goals, I admit that as well. However, we're still third/potentially secon...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

I thought we played well. We won more headers, won more tackles, covered more ground, controlled the ball and limited the home team to 3 dangerous attacks in the entire game. Average is around 22 I believe You can't do much more than that. Our issue is putting the thing in the net. Toal's header was...

Sheehan does struggle when pressed I think it’s obvious. He’s better than he was in that regard but I don’t think he’s been at his best recently, second half last night he was at his best. Morley nearly gave them an equaliser too. Maghoma - the criticism of him baffles me. He’s scoring goals and lo...
