Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

That'll do. A lot of effort and a good slice of luck sees us win. We were comfortably the better side in the match. All the nerves prior to the match were alleviated. I think if Derby were to be seen as a benchmark game as to where we'll finish in the league then we can look very positively today. B...

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

Despite averaging 2 goals a game, we don't look that threatening. Clearly we are, or have been, with our 1.76 xG for our first 5 games. In the league games before today we've had 16, 16, 9, 21 and 17 shots. Fleetwood the single-figure outlier. Maybe that highlights my point? Plenty of chances, not ...

Hopefully nothing silly now and we see this out for a win.

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

You are right to worry. He's clearly done it earlier in the match with our penalty being given despite it being outside the box. DSB, I don't see Thomason for CMG as a bold switch. I think both put themselves about a bit, probably more positionally solid having Thomo on the pitch, but his ability t...

Exeter now back on top. 6 of the top teams are all winning with Oxford the one at the top of the table trailing.

CMG for JDC seems an odd switch. Have we gone to a straight back four for this?

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

Time to take off Thomasson I think. He’s a walking yellow card. I do worry that refs like to level things up. Not sure their keeper could complain but Thomo AND Rico on yellows is a concern. You are right to worry. He's clearly done it earlier in the match with our penalty being given despite it be...

Agreed. He's had a decent game. I'd bring CMG on for him, likewise JDB for Vic.

Must be our lucky day. Penalty outside the box, their keeper sent off and now this?

We've been the better side, but these goals are somewhat of a mystery.

Jones is looking miles better when doing the overlapping runs for crossing in.

That's a clear save outside the box. Keeper has to go.

Harsh that they've had that and a penalty. Correct call from the ref on this occasion.

Well, we've got a pen for a foul outside the box. Thanks ref. 1-0.

Levelling up pens from the looks of it.

Ffs. They should have had one for handball just before.

Performance has been excellent but you have to score when you're on top.
Exactly this. Plenty of decent build up play but no final finish. We've come close with Thomason and JDC, but not really got Vic in the game.

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

WTF was that all about?

Shocking refereeing by all counts. Derby score only for it to be ruled out for a penalty decision. Surely advantage should've been played.

Fresh chance for Baxter to save it, but nope.

1-0 down. Against the run of play aswell. FFS

Well I'm nowhere near a kettle this afternoon unfortunately, although probably not a bad thing with the barren run it's been on. But I am near a coffee machine so that'll have to do.
Hope you didnt bin off your old kettle. That was the one we all relied upon!

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

Anyone catch that foul in the opposition half by Santos. Straight into the back of the opposition and pushing them over. More of a physical approach being taken by our own players perhaps?

And then we go and pfaff about at the back and Derby win an unnecessary free kick....

Re: When is a Derby not a Derby? Home v The Rams Sept 2nd, 3-o'clock.

Nice start so far. Lovely to see Toal back in the mix. It's like having the Irish Santos in the squad.

Decent shot by Thomason is the highlight so far. It's what his game is needing, more of that passing it into the net.

Derby seemingly missing a trick by not being as physical as Wigan here.

Re: Snog, Marry, Avoid: Summer 2023 Transfer Window

Two whole weeks? The laying down of markers for some future "I told you so" is as transparent as it is cringe. Equally, I'm sure having looked to sign Wilson and then not got another RWB, I'm sure Evatt is delighted we haven't got one and would have turned Reece James down on a free. I'm not exactl...
