Re: Pre-season fixtures 2017
Lat one I saw was 4-3. I was in the Stockport end with a mate, and we were 3-0 a half time. I think they had been on a run of something like 17 games without a win, and all the talk at half time was about how pleased they would be if they only lost 4-3!!!!

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
toon supporting mate of mine - who's view on footy I do very much respect - reckons Armstrong is the business. He'd have preferred Newcastle to have kept him, but reckons he's not in favour with Rafa and maybe not quite ready for the Premiership. He reckons we've got a great player who should be abl...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
Just had a look through. Biggest issue for me is that the auditors have issued a qualified opinion - ie they effectively sign off the accounts apart from the fact that they can't be certain of the going concern basis of preparation - which means they haven't seen evidence to support the fact that th...

Re: Contract expiry
why would it necessarily be cannon fodder? We finished 2nd, and in going about the process battered a few of the teams in and around us. Top of league 1 doesn't necessarily sit directly below bottom of the championship in terms of quality and performances - there's always a lot of overlap. I don't t...

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
They were always going to be overdue this year - they only announced changing auditors a couple of months ago, and for the new firm (smallish local outfit) to turn round the audit fieldwork that is required, plus to get comfortable over all the legal and other issues which led to Deloitte resigning,...

Re: Retained list
For those who have jumped on the "this is bad news" bandwagon, can I ask who else you think we should have signed that meets the following criteria: - is available - is willing to come to us - is affordable - is allowed to given the embargo For me, given we currently have s squad of about 6 players,...

Here here - an absolute disgrace. Surely anyone with even a shred of humanity wishes his nothing but the best and hopes he gets the help he needs.
As for the Daily Mail piece - a good article on it:

There are also signs around the ground telling folk not to swear And nor should they, particularly with little 'uns around (particularly the ****-**** who always seems to get a seat behind us in the family stand and f's and blinds throughout the game...). Incidentally, same guy played a blinder on ...

Re: "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves" Bolton vs Posh 30th April
How dare football fans get a bit carried away. Everyone should stay in their seats and not make too much noise! Don't be ridiculous. It is a criminal offence and against club rules. I didn't realise laws were OK to break just because a few people were feeling selfish and were having a nice time.......

Re: "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves" Bolton vs Posh 30th April
The ESL is 90% of the atmosphere of the stadium to moan about them running on the pitch is pathetic. Running on early was a mistake people thought it was full time. And if you think the stewards or police could have stopped the invasion you're completely deluded. Did the same pillocks make the same...

Re: "It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves" Bolton vs Posh 30th April
I agree Bruce. Pitch invasion at the end is inevitable, and to be honest everyone was expecting it. However, before the end of the game - f*cking pathetic, every last one of them. An absolute disgrace. I don't buy over-exuberance, I just think people are inherently stupid. Sorry. There were 22,000 B...

Just brilliant. Utterly brilliant today. Team was superb from start to finish (apart from a few moments of panic for 10 mins before half time. Madine was excellent for the first 60 mins, but tired towards the end. Beevers and Wheater as per usual. Vela never stopped running. Morais' quality is witho...

Exactly. And if we do go up and start to get battered every week and are languishing near the bottom of the table, those same fans will also go missing no doubt. Only this time their anger will no doubt be vented at the owners for not investing, rather than the manager...... The marginal fans will a...

I'll tell you one thing, the fans won't put up with another season in League 1 playing Parkinson's ultra defensive hoof ball football, the majority are absolutely sick of it. Anyone who went last night would have heard fans around them complaining about it, heard fans streaming out of the ground at...

Irrespective of what happens (auto promotion, play off win, play off lose) this season has been a success. Before the start many people thought we'd struggle, some thought we'd go down. We sold our most promising defender against our will and brought in relative unknowns and big Davey Wheater (who m...

I'll say it again:
We're second in the league.
We have the second highest goal difference.
If Parky has just one plan, then in my book it's not a bad plan to be honest......
