Re: It seems the PNE's finally dropped: Preston v Bolton 17/11/2017
Not a good game at all. We were organised and kept a clean sheet which is a plus. We are never going to pass the ball around like almost all the other teams in this Division as we do not have that passing quality in the midfield. The teams that play us dominate possession. however, with Ameobi, we h...

Re: Does Parky have the Balls to find a winning recipe? Bolton v Norwich 4/11/217
Well done lads. Did not have much possession but we were always a threat with Ameobi who is playing at a different level to everyone else. If we can keep him fit we will comfortably survive. Thought Alnwick had an outstanding game and was my man of the match for some crucial saves and command of his...

Re: Jumping through hoops to whack the boys from the bush? - Bolton v QPR 21/10/217
The problem from where I watched via iFollow was that QPR worked out a plan for Ameobi which was successful. Their full back was never left one-on-one with him. A midfielder was always close by to support if he cut inside to his favorite left foot. And then, if Ameobi delayed, a third midfielder app...

Re: A wiser Wanderers to meet with the Owls - Bolton v Sheffield Wed 14/10/2017
Exhilarating win! Both teams gave it their all! Alnwick, Vela, Ameobi and Henry were great. All players did well and we were not weaker when changes were made with Morais and Noone causing plenty problems when they came on. Still coming to terms with Madine's miss ! He did well otherwise. Enjoying t...

Re: Stats and stuff
Very Interesting discussion. Clearly, without the addition of a couple Championship Quality players to the squad we have, Phill will need to perform a miracle to keep us up. January transfer window might be too late. Hope Ameobi, Henry, Vela and Buckley (If he stays fit) prove themselves to be Champ...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?
DSB - not for the first time you've missed the point 43 voters out of possibly 15,000 - 20,000 Bolton fans (against P/Boro last season) means absolutely feck all... This is a sample of the folks on this forum. Not sure what percentage of the total active persons voted, but it would appear that the ...

Re: Zeros and Villans: Aston Villa (A) 30/9/17
No points again but progress. Glad to see that the posters here are not slaughtering the midfield. We no longer looked soft so midfield fixed. Henry, Pratley and Karacan competed strongly and the defense solid, but for the Beevers going to ground after being bamboozeled, in an area where defenders a...

Re: Should Phil Parkinson be sacked?
I voted No under the assumption that he himself hasn't given up as his post Brentford comments would suggest. At the moment he doesn't have the material (players) to compete at this level. He is not a magician. Give him some better options.

Re: The Alternatives
My criticism of him is that in what he has signed he has got it wrong in part. Buckley, Cullen and possibly Le Fondre and Armstrong (why sign both). Darby is gash (but why sign Little as well). Burke makes sense (pace at the back), as does Noone and Ameobi. If you are playing with fck all budget, d...

Our season really and truly begins on Saturday. Win and all in the past is forgiven. Lose, though not the end of the world, will leave us staring down the abyss.

Re: Turning the tide? Orwell adrift? Ipswich (A) 16/9/17 3pm
Watched the online highlights, mark beevers is a joke. Robinson weak again for the second. Hardly the breakaway goal lies made it out to be. Just piss poor soft as fck defending. The problem with highlights is that they are showing the goals and leads one to make a judgement on the players for the ...

Re: Turning the tide? Orwell adrift? Ipswich (A) 16/9/17 3pm
Give Phil a fair chance guys. Yes he is the manager but he should never be blamed for the situation we are currently in. He had no chance getting the players he wanted with the pace and strength to compete in the Championship and improve the quality of the squad we had, due to the embargo. He has ma...

Re: The Blades to stick the knife in? Bolton v Sheffield Utd 12/9/17.
With such a poor midfield, one way to play... play with Madine and Wilbraham up top and lump the ball to them to create havoc and score a lucky goal, and defend with 7.
Cant see us getting out of this without better players.

Re: Trotters away to the Tigers (Fri night 25/08/17)
Sorry to say this but we were dreadful. We look very slow and weak in this Division so far and totally outclassed in an embarrassing manner. Taylor and Cullen have no idea how to pass the ball forward; we are playing a man short when Pratley is on the field; the forwards are isolated; the defenders ...

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
Based on what I saw, we were totally outclassed. Leeds did the same to us too. I am a bit shocked at how far behind those teams we are in terms of quality. The gulf in class is wide. Cant blame PP for that. This would not be his team but for embargo. So we are clearly going to compete at the bottom ...

Re: Brum - Thick and Fast (A) - 15 Aug 19:45
Looking much better than the previous games. Morais and Armstrong have made a difference although no clear cut chance yet. Madine yet to get into the game. Karacan having a good game and the defense very solid. A deflection brought out a brilliant save from Howard being the one chance for the Brum. ...
