Re: General Chit Chat
You can only do what you can, GG, and it sounds like you're doing that. I had to chuckle at the milk in bottles comment, I suppose that they are available here somewhere, but I haven't come across them for years. We used to buy milk in the plastic containers but have now changed to the cardboard, re...

Re: General Chit Chat
No, GG, your efforts, like mine, add together in our attempt to reduce our current impact on the world at large. There are just two of us, but there is many a million who accompany us. I am not a rabid 'global change' follower by the way, but it makes sense to conserve what we have and try not to da...

Yes, Prufrock, you are, indubitably, correct. Still, it never hurts to repeat oneself when prompted.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
For me, Enoch, I'm ever so glad that the alteration of the petticoat revolution did not occur. Also for me, the altar of cricket is The Ashes. :) But where will your loyalties lie Duj, Pom or Oz.? Ah, TANGO, that is indeed a conundrum. I was just eleven years of age when I came to ...

Struth, Spotty, that's a bit rough. What happened? Did he kick you out of the band because you kept breaking your harp strings?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Harry and Bruce, I'm with Spotty on this. I interpret his comment to mean "why publish it when it gives the reader no information" - it's nothing to do with the circumstance of the tragedy, just a stupid image manipulation to avoid showing the terrible image that lies behind it.

Re: So what turns you on???
Them were the days, Hoboh! I was once the president of a local CB club but, when I finally got around to getting my first amateur (Novice) licence, I declined to stand again and then left the CB fraternity for good. Instead of a sort of clandestine group - it was illegal here in those days - it turn...

Re: So what turns you on???
So, for me, ...and amateur radio have been my hobby interests. Are you one of the elite who send each other custom made postcards once you've latched onto a mysterious signal for three or four seconds? In a sense, Spotty, but the collection of QSL cards has never been my aim any more than it has be...

Re: So what turns you on???
Oy, Hoboh! You are obviously a purloiner of other peoples' ideas. My father's first car was a Holden which the family agreed to call "Henrietta" (circa 1957). It was shortened quickly to "The Hen". Since then I have owned many vehicles of varying vintages but, perhaps oddly, I don't recall anointing...

Because, TANGO, there's no interest in a chap in Farnworth and another in Blaxland extolling the virtues of meals such as a meat and three veg.

Re: Administration and recovery
TBF there's no quotes so it would be hard to prove the NDA has been broken. And given Football Ventures are also named, let's not go defenestrating babies with bathwater. Sorry, DSb, I haven't been on the site for a couple of days. You did set me agiggling with that statement though. Does that mean...

Re: Tonight's Football
I don't agree with some of the comments here on women's football. There's an old saying that "From little things big things grow". I am delighted to see women playing sport in the public arena as well as in almost anonymous local competitions. Is not the latter the hunting ground for male football t...

Re: Administration and recovery
Well, I am surprised. I know that it feels a long time for us fans/supporters/faithful, but it seems to me that the administrators are actually rattling along under full steam. If they are already at the stage of isolating prospective purchasers of the club then they must have done a decent forensic...
