Re: Other football summer transfer SWOOPING thread
first up...Liverpool look set to sign Glen Johnson after agreeing a £17million pound fee with Portsmouth http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8102625.stm £17million? Seems a lot. Are Liverpool still owed monies from the Crouch transfer? If so I guess that includes his outstand...

I agree in part with Tom and in part with HRG. The D/L over reductions favoured the Windies. They won mainly because of that. With 3 overs left England were favourites. But the 5 down meant nowt because they only had a few overs left and went for it. If that had been a 20 over game the early wickets...

Re: The fixture computer..........
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html#097608 Interesting article. But christ it sounds like a crackpot operation. Surely in these days a simple computer modelling program could be used to do it 99% automatically in the same way that say school timetable...

Aye. They even won a game! I think it's entirely possible that Hiddink made more than the sum of parts including - to take seven starters from the first game as an example - Craig Moore, Scott Chipperfield, Luke Wilkshire, Brett Emerton, Mark Bresciano, Vince Grella and Jason Culina... Aye he proba...

I read that someone had offered a curly wurly! Someone offered a 1981 Shoot Annual and 6 stamps. We ( sunderland) have been basically raping them since the last day of the season and they just keep making it easier for us. My favourite offer was that of " an escape form colditz board game cir...

BWFCi - Gray's good when he sticks to analysis rather than the sort of opinions which make his eyebrows disappear over the top of his head like Penfold. Collymore's not bad either, compared to some with a lot more experience. I still think my favourite sidekick is Graham Taylor. Bags of experience,...

All ITV to a man, but things aren't much better on the government channel, where the withering decline of Motty has left a void. Jonathan Pearce's shrieking overdrive and pompous flannel would be bad enough but it's increasingly accompanied by missing the bleeding obvious; on the third replay he'll...

With this Ronaldo cash, me, I'd slap £50 mill under The Yanks at 'pools noses for Torres, be a laugh that would, it would sure as hell put the Spanish waiters nose out of joint  Or how bout 80M for Gerrard and Torres? Why not? It'd be nice for Benitez to just laugh down the phone at them. ...

I don't mind Pleat, at least he's tactically aware Sure he does the names thing on purpose - we once sent a writer called Leo to interview him and Pleat pronounced it "Lay-o" Disagree. Think his awareness stretches as far as stating the bleeing obvious. "The full backs won't get this much freedom a...

Right. First off, Man Utd don't exactly have a bad side even without Ronaldo do they? They also have a much higher chance of attracting suitable talent there than we do. Biggest club in the world yadda yadda... Additionally Davies hasn't been whinging and sulking and demanding moves for a year like...
