Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
Throwing someone to the ground with both arms and kicking the ball away, and still not a second yellow?
Compare that to Ogbeta's yellow for kicking the ball away the other day. Ridiculous.

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
Just shows how much we've missed Baxter, I don't want to knock Coleman but without Baxter we'd be 1-0 down now instead of 1-0 up. Not sure that's fair. Been some nervy moments but I don't think Baxter's done anything different than Coleman here, except possibly settle a few nerves. Refs lost it, th...

Might just be a case of Santos updating the bench in terms of that potential injury. Obvious warm ups for Forrester of course just in case.

Thomason getting grabbed by the shoulder and thrown to the ground, refs playing advantage for them apparently.

Great save by Baxter. Seems like Santos has taken a bad knock there, looks ominous.
Linesman waving flag for Toal doing exactly what he's opponent did? wtf is this reffing.

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
I'd be taking Paris off at half time. This is awful. Typical away game again. He's had a good moment playing one of ours through for a chance, but aside from that he's been rather quiet compared to usual. Feels like we're suffering from the weight for expectation rather than the weight of expectati...

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
We're looking the most threatening. Great ball by Maghoma to Ogbeta and we were almost in. Same story. Plenty of balls in threatening areas with the wing backs not taking advantage. That needs to change if we're going to get anything. Tbf, Collins, Maghoma, Thomason, etc. have all done the same, so ...

Hoping we do a number on them next week. Not the time of the season to be watching them laud it over us.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 3:26 pmIf Pompey win and we lose, they'll only be GD off promotion

Get the impression this is one of Maghoma's stroppy days. He's getting nothing off the refs and looking frustrated.
Would love to see him have better body language on the pitch as I don't think it does him any favours.
Still, he's a game changer so hopefully it all comes good.

We've had a really good run of decent refs. Hopefully we dont end up going back to the crap sort again.

Wow, even the throw in was given their way. Never their throw in.
Looks like we're in for a tough game here folks, 11 v 12.
Suspect linesman, let alone the ref.

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
We're oddly nervous in this game. Plenty of passing around with the defenders rather than getting the ball forward and go from there.
JDC getting knocked over, no foul. Fkin double standards from this linesman / ref.

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
Not even touching them and they're on the floor. Jog on. Was thinking the same thing. Looks like the ref's giving them every one of them too. Not even touching them and they're on the floor. Jog on. Size of their defender and he flops over at a touch in the back. Why do refs still buy it Linesman f...

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
Bit harsh on Coleman that is. I would have started with Baxter on the bench but then again I'm not the manager. Anyway, time for a COYWM! He'll not be subbing the goalkeeper during the match so it's hardly surprising Baxter's starting. As good as Coleman has been, it's only right that Baxter gets b...

Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock
Baxter's back, no sign of Charles however. Given the form of our strikers it's hardly surprising he's missing and faith being shown in favour of Charles' recovery.
We should be fixing our away record for this and catching back up to put pressure on Derby for the final run in.

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
I agree not much between them, however Coleman is capable of the odd rash moment where he comes charging out with no possibility of getting the ball. I'd say that was accurate a few weeks ago, but i've not seen evidence of it lately. Almost like he's become aware of it and made steps not to do it. ...

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
Coleman knew what he signed up for, and that was to play second fiddle behind Baxter. He wouldn't have been expecting to have figured in as many games as he has. It genuinely seems like he's (Coleman) progressed in the last four matches. So much so that I can only think of one example where he's had...
