Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Stay for me. With the caveat that anything other than automatic promotion sees him gone. Do you think firmly that target will be met? Because it’s a bit pointless if not. And if you believe he will achieve that next season then the caveat is unnecessary. It was this year's target... Yeah but how ma...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I’d be amazed if there isn’t. If we go into next season with Evatt and a similar squad it’s going to be incredibly grim. I could see it being bottom half.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 6:49 pmI'd be surprised if there's a wholesale change in personnel.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
There will be a wholesale purge. The annual loses cannot be maintained. From the starting 11 Baxter - gone Cogley - keep Jones - gone Santos - gone Toal - keep Ogbeta - sign Sheehan - gone Thomasson - stay Maghoma - gone Charles - gone Collins - stay Bench Coleman - stay Iredale - stay Forrester - ...

Ok. Sorry, you win. You're right. Obviously. I admit it now, The players all got together before the game and agreed to sabotage it by not even trying. They just couldn't be arsed... Cos they thought it might be funny. Jesus wept..... No. They are just too casual, not determined enough. You don’t w...

They are shithouses. And I can’t honestly come to any other conclusion. They will no doubt go elsewhere and not care one bit. Fans can’t. We are stuck here. And we deserve a hell of a lot better than this group and their ‘efforts’. One could argue - if they were so inclined - that given the. Level ...

Yep. You're obviously right (as always). Professional sportsmen in the biggest games of their careers - with the prospect of promotion on TV and with no doubt chunky promotion bonuses and/or pay rises riding on it - really would turn up and just not try. There's just no other possible conclusion......

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
In terms of players who don’t deserve to be playing for Bolton Wanderers we’ve had a few down the years. But this lot are right up there. The more I reflect the more angry I am. I can take not being good enough. It happens. I can take missing a penalty and losing the shoot out. It happens. But this ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
From a manager, I want to see us winning the majority of matches, have success and head in the right direction. We've got that under Evatt's tenure. It's been progress season after season and this season we've fell short of where we want to be, despite progress. We should've gone up. Failing to do ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Go. If he’s here next season it will be toxic and horrific. If he stays it shows he has no integrity or ethics. He needs to resign tomorrow. As for all the ‘we need a modern manager’ guff. I have no problem with having a modern manager but what that seems to mean is someone unproven who talks up som...

Marc Iles has put out his player ratings. He’s pulling no punches now. Saying exactly what I think too about some.

Fair points BWFCi. For me, if I was Sharon, I would let him have a holiday and get him in when he is back and ask him what he would do differently. If the answer is, and I always come back to this, Plan A better, I’d be looking for a new manager. He’s assembled the best players available to do Plan...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
How anyone and I mean anyone can defend Ian Evatt after that disgraceful, shameful, spineless performance is behond me - I know that there are happy clappers who can't hear a single word of criticism and just accept mediocrity. Bottlers end off, a team of robots managed by a robot - I don't think t...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
When a team lets you down that badly it has to be broken up. There are parts that may work under a different system, captain, leadership whatever but we got to see the trie colours of most yesterday. I do not want to start next season with 352 with Santos, Jones on the right and Toal fecking time a...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Since he's improved our league position year on year, he's worthy of being kept on but is the approach or anything going to change? Will we still choke in the big games and the local derbies? No thanks re Duff. Good coach but dour shite his teams serve up time and again. Ainsworth? One trick pony a...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
The failings today are systemic. They are Evatts. He’s had three seasons to build and the problems remain. To get out of this division playing like we are needs considerably better players than we have. You can’t do it. We need a manager who is actually successful - knows what it takes to win and w...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
We need a lot more than 4 and obviously need an Evatt replacement first. Santos, Sheehan, Maghoma, Ogbeta, JDB, Jerome, Jones, Nlundulu - for me all will go or should go. Thats a fair bit of space. Next manager has to recruit primarily based on mentality. We need mentally strong players, ideally who...
