Adeboyejo's sneezing injury has been picked up as a 'funny old world' type story by Reuters, one of the world's largest news agencies. Expect to see it all over the net over the next couple of days.
Already heard about it on t'radio :D

Re: The ianevattable sacking

Players are either fit enough to play or not. If it were that simple it'd be great. You have to be able to show a player is injured or ill, not that they are at risk of injury. You have to provide signed-off medical reports on any absentee, upon request. We also can't withhold Toal from Northern Ir...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

About not having to play them, does he not have to under the rules of fairness of the game? And if he doesn't, oh he's thrown the cup and we still lost to Exeter. Megson 101. If his comments apply to the whole team then something is very very wrong. Assuming he meant a few players (understandable) ...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

Oh, and if I see Thomason, Dempsey and Sheehan as the midfield trio starting again he can be sacked immediately on sight. He's done that to death and it doesn't work. I'd rather see Lofty the Lion or one of the ball boys thrown in.

Re: The ianevattable sacking

We can over analyse all we like, but it simply comes down to not good enough. Not one person is defending it. For me it comes down to it going wrong from January. He's been backed heavily to make some changes, and its not working. Question now is what is Evatt going to do about it? I'd be telling hi...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

He gets a game against one of the teams we expect to be up there. A chance to start proving we're getting over a slump. A new manager doesn't need an international break to get up to speed as any half competent manager could get a better tune out of this lot.

I'm not voting. For me it is option 4 Huddersfield. Proper performance and win, otherwise he can get his hiking boots on.

As an aside, can I have whatever the person voting for option 3 is on

Re: All Change at Shrews: Shrewsbury Away, EFL Cup 2nd Round, Tue 27th Aug 19:45

I liked Arsenal back then. Highbury a proper ground. Went back a few years later when Rioch was their manager and we were already relegated, last day of the season. Still a lot of fun. I was in the Arsenal end behind the goal for that one. I may have gotten a glare or two when went one nil up :mrgr...

Re: All Change at Shrews: Shrewsbury Away, EFL Cup 2nd Round, Tue 27th Aug 19:45

94 - last time we won there. What a night that was. Felt a bit like a dream - Andy Walker back from injury sealed it with the sort of goal that was his trademark pre injury. Sadly he never was quite the same - but that night we were living the dream. Arsenal were at that stage a top side with Georg...

Re: Down in The Valley, something stirred. V Charlton Athletic away Sat Aug 24th 3-0 'clock.

Are there stats for complete and utter balls up per player? On one hand we're saying the players are good enough, yet anecdotally it feels like (at least some) are fecking it up more frequently than they should. Is this the demands of the system, the players themselves or are they just comparable to...

Re: Down in The Valley, something stirred. V Charlton Athletic away Sat Aug 24th 3-0 'clock.

Insaney, you're conflating fact and opinion when you talk of ceilings. You think he has but Sharon and others think not. Even if he's booted out next month, or throws a strop and walks away, it doesn't mean he's hit his ceiling fact. You may well be right, but that can only be judged years from now ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Agree. And Evatt keeps picking systems that have significant failure points that aren’t extensively played at this level. Henrik Pedersen played successfully as a left back in a back four at premiership level due to injuries. At least lay off Evatt for sins uncommitted till we see his progress. Bei...

Re: Welcome to Bolton. Wrexham (h), 18/08, 3pm

Two teams that largely cancelled each other out today. I'd have hoped our extra quality would have provided a couple of moments to get us a goal or two. Not concerned yet, but good to see a bit more solidity. Plenty to work on and important we start to gel quickly, or we'll be dropping below Ghost's...
