Hi

Hello to all of you. I have admired the Wanderers for a while for the impressive disparity between the club's spending capacity and success...and I am an Iranian (note the addition to your frustration with Iranian names) so it pretty much did it when you signed Andranik.

I suppose I may post every now and then, probably won't get around to it highly often.

welcome to TW.

Are you in Iran or elsewhere? Do you follow another Iranian team? Any other young Irnanina players we should watch out for?

 thanks!

I actually saw "Phil eh Bozorg"'s posts with the signature, that's pretty amusing  Doubt I could do better.

It means Big Elephant of course :P

I follow the Iranian national team, as stressfull as it can be! I'm living in the United States, in Boston, though. I guess like all large football adoring countries we have promising talents in Iran. Most of the players would actually do better in Italy or Spain than in the EPL, while the majority of our Europe based players have played in the German Bundesliga. I wish it were not so because if we could get our players into the speed of the premiership our football would be better off. There was a young defender that Bolton and other clubs were interested in but it didn't work out for weird reasons (he refused to start in any club other than Manure, Chelski, and Arse-enal). He may have not been physically strong enough for the EPL, however.

Currently we have one guy who was born in Iran but raised in Germany, and plays as striker for Hertha and the German u21. The German national team expects that he is a good future prospect, while Iranian fans are begging our guys to invite him but it looks like they won't because he is westernized! He would be okay in the premiership too-hopefully he can become detached from Germany so he thinks more about Iran! But I think he's happy where he is. That's pretty much it...

I know, but he thinks it means Phil the Great! We've been killing ourselves about that ever since we signed Ando and an Iranian poster somewhat misled him. American Trotter works in Boston too so you are not the only BWFC fan there.

it was explained at the time it meant big elephant - in reference to "Big Phil" Scolari - that's why I have a picture of an elephant with it... (a subtle clue...)

There are ladies here, but none have yet welcomed you I'm afraid.

C'est la vie, mon brave - but there are not a lot of ladies compared to men - more's the pity - on this site. I'm sure Gertie will give you a big welcome when she sees this.

She's no lady, Faran. You should read the stuff that Monty (Montreal Wanderer) tells me about her. It would curl your toenails, honestly. Mind you, she's got one of those really flash hair curler things which (apparently) straighten your hair - can you believe the stuff that women buy? - so you'd be OK in the end.

Crazy: You are a wise wise wise man

Dujon: None of it is true, Monty has an active imagination - as is just unfolding... When you have seen the wonder of hair straightners you'd believe... It's the best invention known to man.

Monty: You and I need to talk, you said you wouldn't tell a soul.
