Good lad! I was watching SSN on Saturday hoping we'd score/Fleetwood wouldn't and was sickened every time they scored. Tin pot league or not.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2017 12:35 pmHarry Genshaw wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2017 8:33 amIf Kaiyne Woollery does nothing else in football now, I don't mind

Re: Tonight's Football
Too much going on in this Ross Barkley business for me to get my head around!
First of all, so he's just been minding his own business and been smacked in town and weirdly the Sun have decided to have a pop at him for it? Is that it background-wise, or have I missed something?
Secondly, I don't think what Kelvin Mackenzie wrote was racist for the sole and single reason that I don't for a second believe he'd have done the research to even know Ross Barkley was mixed race.
Thirdly, it's hard picking sides between scousers and the Sun. The mayor of Liverpool said "Not only is it racist in a sense that he is of mixed-race descent, equally it's a racial stereotype of Liverpool. It is racist and prehistoric". They're beyond parody.
Fourthly, while I don't think Mackenzie was being racist, and I do think scousers love a mawkish whinge, and I also think their "boycott" of the Sun went past understandable into pathetic some considerable time ago, even despite all that, if I were Kelvin Mackenzie personally, I'd pause for some thought before publishing a piece slagging off Liverpool.
Conclusion...they're all wankers.

Blyth Spartans away at Ashton yesterday, all turned up decked out as Mexicans, complete with Donald Trump and his wall

Impressed with Holding yesterday. Hopefully that put a few quid in our pocket.

Port Vale still in the game at Walsall. 0-0 with 20 minutes to play. A Vale goal would do very nicely right now.

Your wish is granted. 0-1. Be a biggie for them come Sunday.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2017 9:13 pmPort Vale still in the game at Walsall. 0-0 with 20 minutes to play. A Vale goal would do very nicely right now.
Re: Tonight's Football
Good to see the FA come down strong on Joey Barton now he's done something seriously wrong.

Re: Tonight's Football
Barton had/has a gambling addiction. 18 months ban from football will sort that right out.

Kick the f*ck out of a teammate so badly you put him in hospital... 6 match ban.
Batter two people on a night out leading to a prison sentence... 4 month ban.
Break the rules on betting (never betting on a game you were involved in) with medical evidence saying you're suffering from an addiction... 18 months.
Priorities.

He did actually bet on games he was involved in. But only bet on his team winning them.Prufrock wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2017 11:08 amSomewhat!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2017 10:29 amI'm surmising here that your tongue is cheek-wards here?!

He broke the rules. Sure. But a months ban with a hefty fine would be more than enough.
18 months ban for someone with a gambling addiction, who did not engage in any match fixing activities, is absolutely ridiculous.
I don't like Barton, but the FA are worse.
Re: Tonight's Football
Quite right, I meant didn't bet on his team not to win any games he was involved in.
As you say, he broke the rules but the punishment is clearly disproportionate.

Re: Tonight's Football
I haven't met anyone who thinks it's proportionate. Considering that all those think so in spite of having Barton pegged as a complete cnut, says it all really.

Given it's Barton, they should reduce it on Appeal to 24 months.

How good are Juventus?!
Top football, absolutely rock solid and great to watch. They've got such a fantastic balance
