I thought he refereed pretty well to be honest.blurred wrote:Me either, but then his performance was 'puzzling' throughout.TANGODANCER wrote:Still not sure where the ref got five minutes from.
He was consistent which is what you want.
He added 4 minutes on at the end of the game. Surely thats not a massive shock? Most games seem to have 4 minutes added on now!
Its meant to be 30 seconds per sub, and there were 4 subs, so thats 2 minutes straight away.
Plus injuries easily adds up to 4 minutes at least.

I cite the scything of Kuyt up into the air with a flying karate attack that both the ref and the linesman (who was stood four feet away), allowed to go by. That and a few "pretends" by both sides, where he wasn't up with the action enough to spot them.BWFC_Insane wrote: I thought he refereed pretty well to be honest. He was consistent which is what you want.

Chelseas home record second to none, they feel this is their year, away goal, suposed 12th man (the kop) missing, you ain't got a hope in hell!!!blurred wrote:Are you having a laugh? 1-1 at half time and we're out?hoboh2o wrote:'pool are out!!
Yeah, of course we are...
The theft and robery squad in Moscow will be grateful for that at least.
Second to none? Don't tell Barca, cos they beat 'em there only 2 years ago. This Chelsea side are the most average of the Abramovich era, and I fancy us to get a goal down there. Even if Chelsea go one-nil up, it doesn't really alter the fact that we need to score once.hoboh2o wrote:Chelseas home record second to none, they feel this is their year, away goal, suposed 12th man (the kop) missing, you ain't got a hope in hell!!!

The Kuyt decision was given/not given by the linesman.TANGODANCER wrote:I cite the scything of Kuyt up into the air with a flying karate attack that both the ref and the linesman (who was stood four feet away), allowed to go by. I stand by what I said and thought the ref did pretty well. In fact the major things he got wrong went in Liverpools favour. The "free kick" that led to the goal wasn't a free kick and Alonso took it from the wrong place.
Carragher also went through the back of Malouda and Drogba (IIRC) and for me considering tackling from behind is banned, both were fouls.
Generally I thought the ref was OK and tried to let the game flow (which is more than Liverpool tried).
I'm not talking about the individuals, I'm talking about the performances - they've looked lacklustre and generally poor under Grant, and in the two games they've played at Anfield this season it's taken possibly the worst penalty decision of the decade and a 95th minute moment of madness from copper bollocks to gift them goals - even the game at the Bridge was the worst I've seen from them down there, and had we had Torres and not Crouch that day I'd've fancied us to take 3 points instead of just 1.hoboh2o wrote: really and apart from your girlie striker you are so full of superstars!!! lets think???
Are they favourites? Of course, because they can draw 0-0 and go through, but as soon as we score they are no longer favourites and it's game on. I fancy us to score, because we know we have to.
9 points, what's that got to do with a one-off cup match?hoboh2o wrote:how far behind the top two are you now???

As do I blurred, but I do think you'll be heading out in extra time.blurred wrote:Second to none? Don't tell Barca, cos they beat 'em there only 2 years ago. Essien do bundle the ball home after John Terry punches the ball into Drogba's backside, who then goes down theatrically, leaving Essien unmarked as Gerrard to tries to go one better
Quite possibly, but we'll give 'em a damn good go either way.boltonboris wrote:As do I blurred, but I do think you'll be heading out in extra time.blurred wrote:

Don't deny that for one second, the game will be all huff and puff, not much football but plenty of talking points (again) I do think though that the extra bit of quality they have will sort it out - Flanks are key, in that area they're strongerblurred wrote:Quite possibly, but we'll give 'em a damn good go either way.boltonboris wrote:As do I blurred, but I do think you'll be heading out in extra time.blurred wrote:
