(Non Top 4) Premier League team of the season

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

(Non Top 4) Premier League team of the season

Post by boltonboris » Wed Apr 23, 2008 4:13 pm

Following on from the Premiership team of the season.. Let;s try our hand at doing one without the top 4 clubs involved.

James

G. Johnson, Laursen, Yobo, Lescott

Bentley, Barry, Elano, Krancjar

Berbatov, Keane

I'm torn between Krancjar and Ashley young, but I've gone with the former

Keeganesque midfield though - winger in the middle, nobody who can tackle, etc

Why do so many prefer James over our own Ahi Al-Habsi, even with a defence of your choice in front of him?

Because he's been superb for 35 league games, not 5

Aye, that's because he's played thirty-five league games and not five. :|

In that case I'll put Bojinov in my team too, he's good! And what about Gary Neville? He might play a couple of games

Seriously though, it's not about talent as such, it's about a team of the season - Who has been most consistent over the course of the season so far.

A lot of people have put Hleb into the main Prem team over Gerrard, not because he's a better player, it's becasue he has performed to a high standard more consistently.

Personal opinion, but I reckon most people in the World would rather have Gerrard than Hleb

Al Habsi has only had 1 very good game. He hasn't done much wrong in the others but has hardly set the world alight. James, from what I've seen, has been excellent all year. He deserves to be in it just for the game at the Reebok FFS.

Depends doesn't it.

I know who I'd rather have in an international set up. For Liverpool Gerrard is probably as good as you'll get. For a better technical team or a team where you want some guile and craft and generally clever play Hleb would be a better bet.

Still don't think so, If Gerrard played for Arsenal, Hleb wouldn't get a look in
