Brilliant. I challenge anyone to watch that and not smile.Bruno wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI1nPd7hezM
Skip to 23 seconds for my opinion of tonights match
Really was phenomenal at times that. Never have I seen a team look so comfortable in possession. For all the talk of Busquets being out of his depth, he was great. Iniesta and Xavi were brilliant, the latter especially, and never it seemed gave the ball away.
Man of the match for me though...Carlos Puyol by a country mile. Not only shackled whatever Utd threw at him, he managed to bomb forward a lot and cause havoc for Evra. If it had been Dani Alves on there you could be talking 3 or 4 I fancy. Even so, fantastic.

Methinks Ronaldo will NOT be retaining his World Player of the Year crown. In fact he's probably taken 10 million pounds off his Real Madrid transfer fee with that lazy, petulant performance. Messi made him look like Gerald Cid.
I couldn't believe how bad United were. Ferguson has a lot of questions to answer. Park may sell a lot of shirts but he's not good enough for a CL final, and when you've got Tevez on the bench that's just idiocy. He also got his midfield all wrong, Giggs is not going to have any luck in central midfield against the likes of Xavi and Iniesta. And for God's sake, Messi may be mind-blowing with the ball at his feet but he needed hormone treatment to get to 5'7". He should NOT be heading it past Vidic and Ferdinand.
Not to take anything away from Barca though. Apart from the first 10 minutes they kept Utd in their back pocket, and that was with a makeshift back four.

I watched the game together with some ManUre fans in a bar here. During the preliminars they asked me which was my favorite EPL team (I think they expected it to be *them*). When I said "Bolton" one of them laid his lager and said "That sack of shit?". I will spare you the rest of the conversation but nonetheless, he got his due at the end.
That small conversation made me think again of this board so I thought it was as good a chance as any other to say hi again. Sadly I can't remember my old password, and apparently the email account it was registered to is no longer active. Anyway, glad to see you again.

As far as I'm aware, Ronaldo's never scored against a Spanish side either.FD wrote:Totally agreed. It's grating how Andy Gray and co desperately want him to not be as good as the one that plays in the premiership. Apparently Alan Green was his usual xenophobic self on the radio, the pathetic fat tw*t.

Seems to have ben Ferguson's view too. "Once they scored..." ...you had 80 minutes left, with the best squad the world has ever seen assembled, and you blew it.SuperWhiteWarrior wrote:After the first goal that was it, United were completely shacken up by it and couldn't recover.

Watched a replay of the game this morning, a lot of good skills on show and two excellent goals. The second in particular wasn't an easy header at all but Messi bent his body to make it look easy. United were poor and didn't create much, but it could all have been so different if Park had finished off the rebound after Ronaldo's very early freekick. Shortly after Barca scored and United didn't have anything to offer after that.
Some strange selections though for United, e.g. 30mil Berbatov and 25mil Tevez on the bench. Also the sooner Ronaldo goes to Real Mardid the better.
Ferguson has been a geat manager but perhaps its time for him to retire now.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

He's a great player but that was a bad performance. He knew it too. Should have been sent off for a tackle on Puyol, both feet were off the ground and he dove in hard.James B wrote:drivelH. Yeah he's past it... He only won the World club cup, the League cup and the Premier League. I can't believe his team got beaten by Barcelona in what was his second successive Champions League final against the best attacking team in the world..FaninOz wrote:Watched a replay of the game this morning, a lot of good skills on show and two excellent goals. Can't argue with leaving Berbatov on the bench. £30 mil or not, he hasn't been good for United at all. When he came on he touched the ball maybe twice, shooting well over both times from corners. Tevez is impossible to explain though, Ferguson must be the only person outside of South Korea who would look at a choice or Park or Tevez and choose Park.FaninOz wrote:Some strange selections though for United, e.g. 30mil Berbatov and 25mil Tevez on the bench. Funny statistic, over here they kept showing the internet voting for MOTM and Park won with 62% despite contibuting sweet FA.

I thought he was Uniteds best player on the night, but that still doesn't give him much creditH. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he defininately is, but he's surely got a claim?
