I didn't even know there was a game on until yesterday morning...

Good win, that. That's qualification for this ludicrous, ruined tournament, then.

We looked really good on the break. The best we have looked for many years with the pace we have. Our touch and final ball needs much work though.

Enjoyed the game tonight though. I like seeing new young faces taking over. Cracking win away to the Swiss.

Decent performance against a physical "Credit Suisse" side. No duck-eggs these yodeler fellas. Stirling got hammered and stood up to it well. Tough kid for his size. It was a bit Serie A 1995 in places possession-wise, but a decent game overall. Thought Cahill was a bit Rio Ferdinand early on in his desire to get rid of the ball, but his goal-line saver was top class.

I've been short on seeing "wins" this season, so that made a nice change. :-)

As said, decent on the break, a bit scary at the back, was convinced they were going to spring that offside trap...

Think I'm preferring Stones to Glenn Johnson as a right back option. He's made a decent start in both games so far. We've got a better balance all round and a bit of decent strength on the bench. Baines is doing a decent job at left back and there's a more workmanlike feel about the team right now. Hope it lasts.

Stones long way to go, and will probably end up a centre-half I reckon. Clyne is the one for me at RB. Need to pick a partner for Cahill, whether it's Jones, Stones or Chambers and stick with them. Need to find a proper holding midfielder, get Wilshere alongside Henderson, Sterling at the tip, Rooney and Sturridge, supporting cast of Welbeck, Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain and it looks good. Plenty time to experiment coz that's us qualified and probably the group won too.

It really is a piss-take this expansion of the finals. A couple more wins and we might as well be playing friendlies for the rest of the group phase.

The only games worth bothering about are the tough fixtures. Tougher they are the better. Same with the ratings of the opposition. Last night was a real test of mettle. Winning a tough game by the odd goal gives a far truer understanding of what we'll meet at the sharp end. Better to nick an odd goal win against Sweden or Brazil than score eight against Outer Katmandu or the Cayman Islands. Thankfully, sixty-six is history to today's young England.

To ressurect this...

Can't see an argument beyond Dele Alli off Harry Kane in the summer. Phenomenal.

----------------Hart------------------

Clyne--Cahill--Smalling--Rose

----------Dier--Henderson----

--Sterling----Alli--------Barkley

------------------Kane--------------

For me.

Welbeck, Vardy, Lallana and a fit Sturridge all knocking on the door. Only Cahill the wrong side of 30, it's exciting! Could do with somebody rescuing John Stones from Bob Martinez.

Surely the end for the likes of Walcott!

Looks very decent. Not a huge fan of Barkley or Sterling, too hit and miss. Wouldn't have both in. No idea who else though, Liam Feeney maybe?

Liverpool right back they got from Southampton in the summer. The mon crossing for Vardy's goal (and going missing for Gomez's).

Well, you can't have everything! Could do with putting an order in at Southampton for a couple of centre backs.

Only part of the team I worry about. Other than CM arguably the only place we haven't got real depth, and all.

None the wiser but cheers anyway.
