There are some serious plums walking about and breathing.Bruce Rioja wrote:Nipped out at lunch and heard some plum on the radio say;
"If Man Utd can buy Bale for £80m and get £40m from Chelsea for Rooney then it means that Bale's only cost them £40m".
(a) The c*nt was being serious
(b) This remark went completely unchallenged
(c) I don't think it was Dan

Re: Bale
Tony Adams fessed-up on yesterday's Football Focus that Arsenal sent him to Southampton to scout Bale. Adams returned and told Arsenal that Bale wasn't good enough. Oh dear.

Re: Bale
We'll see. I am quietly confident that we might actually have a good season for once - we are due one (and even when we have bad seasons we always finish above the spuds...) They've just spent over £100mil and still can't beat us.ChrisC wrote:You may have won the battle today but you will lose the war (for 4th) IMOGooner Girl wrote:Why? Re: Bale
Did I say that losing just the one game since march was a terrible crisis? Yes, was peed off we lost our opening game and i want Wenger to buy, but I don't think I was hopping on the terrible crisis band wagon and given its only just turned into September I hope you Bolton fans aren't either.thebish wrote:terrible crisis over then! that's nice for you!Gooner Girl wrote:We'll see. Re: Bale
meanwhile.....
(BBC)
We've been asked how much money Southampton will make from the Gareth Bale transfer.
The answer is absolutely nothing (almost).
Saints did have a 25% sell-on clause in the deal to sell Bale to Tottenham, but is was renegotiated when the south-coast club were in deep financial trouble.
As part of the new deal, Saints got Spurs goalkeeper Tommy Forecast.
Daniel Levy is some sort of arch-negotiator.
