Funny story behind this.. Some lad who lives over there, originally from Glasgow is a Rangers fan.. He works for a paper covering local sports, so Sky sports asked him for some info and for a laugh, he spouted a load of bullshit and Sky sports ran with it!!!

Dortmund denied a late penalty as the former Manchester United man, Shinji Kagawa is questionably brought down by Manchester City's Jason Denayer.

The referee, Fu Ming, waves away the protests.
Really?! :D

I hope the Sunderland Ryhope CW fans are singing "who are you?"

Milwall fan arrested for theft for taking a ball that ended up in the crowd.

I know it's Milwall but Christ.

When the police say they've got insufficient resources to deal with break-ins, muggings and car thefts

Remember, that they enough resources to arrest a man for trying to keep a momento from a football match he attended with his young son.

I said it on twitter, but the demonisation of football and its' fans, seems to know no limits at the moment

The difference being, someone is paying £60 an hour per Copper at a football match.

Suppose, but could you imagine a tennis fan at Wimbledon being publicly arrested for taking a tennis ball?! Would not happen

Hmmm. Whilst it seems harsh that something he did 4 years ago would have remained hidden had someone not dug it up, and that his explanation that he is now a different person is reasonable, I'm not sure what the FA could do?

Like if you break the law 10 years ago and it comes to light, whatever has happened in those 10 years however good a citizen you've been, usually the police still have to prosecute you in the same way....a poor analogy I know but....

Holding had the right idea when he deleted his old twitter account stating he'd been 'hacked' when he obviously knew he was going to Arsenal

Not charge him? It was 4 years ago. V majority of civil actions have statutes of limitation. Slander (a not completely different issue) has one of one year. Seems ridiculous to charge him with bringing the gave into disrepute for comments he made ages ago when no-one even knew who he was. If they'd seen them at the time, fine, but the fact they didn't seems pretty good evidence to me that he didn't "bring the game into disrepute".

Yes but everyone sees them now.

I think it is a tough one. If they did nothing they'd be bashed as well.

Can't win here.

True bwfci, because cetain loudmouth special interest groups will see it as an opportunity to get their names in the papers.
Acknowledge his apology and tell him not to do it again. Small fine to a charity. Done and dusted.
