31,063 at Goodison?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

31,063 at Goodison?

Post by Lord Kangana » Sun Nov 16, 2008 10:34 pm

I thought Everton were a 'massive club'?

That figure can't just be down to non-travelling Boro fans, have they had falling attendances of late?

Just surprised me, anyone offer any reasons/excuses?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Massive queues, it seems, outside Everton players' houses. Men - and women - in striped jerseys and masks with large sacks slung over shoulder.

Everton have had shit attendances for ages - they can barely sell out for the derby, never mind any other game.

Everton are not a massive club. They are a small club.

Not a chance, I'd've said - the fans of both sets wouldn't stand for it, no matter how much financial sense it might make. Besides, Everton don't have enough to chip in for half of our stadium, and we're not gonna move out to Knowsley on the cheap with them and Tesco.

Huge fan base. Probably as big as Liverpool, given a little success. Esp if you count only Merseysiders.

Makes you wonder where THE PEOPLE are.

If that 50,000 seater ever gets the go ahead it'll have 10,000 seats permanently empty after a few years.

Did anyone else hear radio 5 this morning. Some Bolton fan was on talking about the move from Burnden to the Reebok (in the context of Everton's move to Kirby) when Nicky Campbell chips in, we've just had a text, "Everton are not Bolton, they are a unique club in a unique city". No delusions there then.
