No wonder I've just seen him grinning from ear to ear on my lunch break.

Agreed, but then I fancy them to struggle next season.

Could be like Carson to West Brom, which I also thought was decent business.

Don't rate him...

he's also the first 'keeper in memory who's been lobbed twice by an oppo 'keeper

Foster is a hard one to judge; how much first team action has he had since Watford? I suppose 6 mill isn't a massive risk..

It is...

I can only gather that City gave them 2 fingers and they're absolutely desperate

Maybe they asked city for the wrong keeper; i've heard that they've got a faroe islands goalie who's absolute mustard.

That they didn't play end of season when Given was injured and got in Sunderlands reserve keeper...

Is 'mustard' a synonym for shit? I lose track.

Anyway, I've not heard great things about Gunnar Neilson.

I read that he'd been released by his team in The Faroe Islands, then impressed on a trial at Blackburn and was subsequently released a year later... Doesn't bode well for him at the biggest, most massifest club in the World

Got a mate who supports Wrexham, he said he played 6 games for them, was pretty good and hit the bar from a free kick in his own half. So there you go

Beckford has signed for Everton.

Hmm, odd one that.

As a keeper for Wrexham he'll have got plenty of practice,

This is mid-table Conference let's not forget.

Regarding B'ham and Citeh (massive, massive club) they were very silly to rebuff them. Citeh will routinely be offloading players, on loan or out of the door & p'ing them off doesn't seem wise. All for 3 end-of-season games, two of which they lost anyway !
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I think its a case of "worth a gamble on a free" for a club who won't have that much (relatively) to spend!

Aye, don't think he's a bad signing to chuck on off the bench.

Hitzlsberger strikes me as a decent bit of business. He was going good guns in the German League and broke into the German team before moving to Lazio. Free transfer, good pedigree, cracking left boot - think he would have improved our midfield.

Was thinking similar meself...

I'm ok with lots of yoofs in the team, but we need a few older heads too.

I can't say I have seen him recently but I thought he was a Matty Taylor sort of player. No pace, good left foot and that's it. I personally would keep Taylor. At least he scores more goals.

We could do with pacey left winger.
