Come, now, Bruce. Sammy Lee seemed to do alright as an assistant manager. Compare and contrast. Sammy Lee and Phil Brown.Bruce Rioja wrote:Twas saying on SSN this morning that they believe Sammy Lee to have been sacked by Dalglish. Sammy Lee - Stealing a living since 1990 (the little c*nt).
But still. Should have been given the manager's job at Liverpool. And Several Hundred Million to spend. Mostly on Daniel Braaten.

I could be wrong, but I'm sure somebody did analysis to show our results were better when Phil Brown was coach than Sammy Lee?Puskas wrote:Come, now, Bruce. Who was coach when we finished 6th?
I always felt the quality of the football declined when Sammy Lee took over from Phil Brown. Hardly surprising when you look how Liverpool have been playing in the time he's been coach, both before and after.

Apparently, the Scousers have signed Charlie Adam for 7 mil. Granada Sports News.

Adams appears to be a very good player. We'll see now whether that was a one season flash in the pan, and how being a smaller fish in a bigger pond suits him.
There are going to be some disatisfied players benchwarming at Anfield this season.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Adam is very good at penalties and free kicks. So where does that leave Stevie Me?

'Front' 6 of
Meireles, Adam, Gerrard,
Suarez, Carroll, and anyone of Kuyt, Rodriguez, Cole etc
Looks pretty tasty. That doesn't even include Henderson (who I think is massively overrated anyway).
Problem is though, if he plays 442 they've got no genuine width.
Regardless, I reckon they'll finish above Arsenal next season.

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
£15m bid for Downing... £8m (or whatever) for Adam..
Still overpaying on obviously overpriced players.
Adam for his faults will give them plenty free goals though with free kicks/corners landed on Carroll's head

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
The funniest thing I've ever read on RAWK
Worthy of his place in the side for his free kicks, corners, and penalties alone. After failing to make much of an impact at one of the bigger clubs in his country during the start of his career, leaving to go on loan twice during his time there, it was while at an unfashionable "lesser" team that he made his mark in the top flight and was transferred to a European giant, destined to be the player to dictate play with long range passing from a deep "pivot" position. This is the story of Charlie Adam. This is the story of Andrea Pirlo.
Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
Some competition but it's up there! He's a decent player and all, but I'd give it a while before I'd start comparing him to someone who has had a position named after them!

Aye, steady on, he's got to play well at Liverpool yet before he gets his move to a European Giant.
