Letters to Football Clubs

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Very much in the style of Henry Root's letters - which, I wholeheartedly recommend to the house ;)

Were they the basis of the tv series Root into Europe, with George Cole?

Oh, Colin. I love you. Yes. Yes they were. The finest series that the BBC has ever made. In fact, the finest TV series of anyone ever. I've got it all here on VHS and need to find someone that can transfer them to DVD.

And you would be correct.

Could have swore it was the Beeb, but anyway, Root into Europe is my all-time favourite TV series. George Cole absolutely nails the part of the middle class Euro-sceptic.

Didn't he say he was doing a documentary for the BBC?

He did, but he embellished it with every telling (Branson's behind it, Marmaduke Hussey's in on it and so on)

Ah.

Funny though, from what I remember.

Hi guys, I remember you posting about my prank letters and I'm delighted to say that my letters have now been published. The book is available at http://www.eatthebreed.bigcartel.com with the profits from the book going to charity - there are three amazing charities that I'm supporting through sales of the book (one of which is the Adam Stansfield Foundation - the player whose portrait I painted in the Exeter City letters who tragically passed away just 7 months after signing the portrait).

The letters that were on my blog are all in the book - and there are 24 chains of letters including Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, West Ham, Peterborough, Bradford City, PNE, York City, Lincoln City, Doncaster Rovers, Exeter City, Celtic, Hearts, Dundee, Stenhousemuir, Dumbarton, Elgin City etc.

You can see some excerpts from the book at http://frasersyme.wordpress.com/2014/06 ... -the-book/

I really appreciate your kind words about my letters and I'd greatly appreciate your support for the book.

Thanks very much and all the best for the new season!

Cheers
Fraser
