Hodgson....

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I dunno, I never used to like Neville. But afraid to say he's come across really well on SKY. Seems very intelligent and articulate.

And actually think its quite clever by Hodgson. Pick a very public face to be a coach, but someone who hasn't necessarily been tainted by it before.

What exactly has he done to be qualified for this position?

The FA can go f*ck themselves, they are bastard clueless as to whats required beyond celebrity status. Mark my words, they'll find a job for Beckham too. Soon.

He's an ex player who can string more than 1 sentence together?

Christ I'd say that makes him overqualified.

That is a great appointment. I haven't seen much of him on Sky Sports but people I spoken too have said he's quite a bit better than the old school pundits. Its not necessarily an outright coaching position but a more of a go between the players and manager. Hodgson is looking like a shrewd move imv.

Despite being a grade A cockend, there's not many Englishmen with a better footballing CV than Gary Neville. Played with the best, played against the best and mentored by the best. Good signing by Hodgson IMV.

given that most of the players are utter cockends - surely a cockend is the best option to work with them??

Massively respected by players. Knows the game. He'll be a good link between players and management.

About as much as Jurgen Klinsmann when he became German Manager, and slightly less than Marco van Basten when he took charge of Holland

But they don't count cos theyre not English - even though they got closer to World Cup glory than we have in donkeys years

Well clearly his appointment is not going to mean England win anything.

But whats that bad about it?

Media friendly (which Hodgson needs to get them back onside), relatively fan friendly after his success on TV this year, knows the players, understands the pressures and seems fairly intelligent.

Seems ideal to me. He's not manager, just in there as a coach....

WTF

Andy Carroll 4 goals in 35 league games.

Downing - 0 goals / 0 assists this season.

Gerrard - worst season ever.

Hodgson loves the bindippers. :conf:

Sturridge - 11 goals in 28 league games.
