Clyne is ace. Best RB we've had in years. Not seen a lot of Mason. What I have seen has been very meh.

I had a meeting at the De Vere Hunton Park Hotel near Watford yesterday. A coach pulled up whilst I was there and all the England U21 squad players and coaches piled off (tracksuits and headphones).

I didn't recognise any of them. I'm getting really old.

I wouldn't recognise half the proper England squad, never mind the kids. To be fair, I don't even recognise half our own squad these days

So Marvellous Marvin Sordell didn't make it then? I am surprised.

I think he is too old now or otherwise he would have been a nailed on certainty.

Italy tonight, let's see how good we have suddenly become then. Rooney seems to think we are fecking ace.

Well, considering Rooney thinks shagging grannies is ace, I'm not sure his aceometer is up to much :|

Be interesting to see our progress amongst decent opposition. We looked pretty sharp against Lithuania, but then again, that was Lithuania.

Glad we've finally moved Glenn Johnson out of there. Thought Delph and Leyton Baines coped well on the left last match.

Just what we needed, a dirty, clogging but skillful team to remind us what international football is all about. Might change second half but right now they're better than us in the air, on the ground and at creating attacks. They're also faster and so far, tougher and they're anticipating most of what we do. Some of our passing is almost lacadasical. When we get a throw everybody walks away like "job done" Should be an interesting second half.

Cape Verde, a country with a population of a little over twice the size of Bolton, are beating Portugal two nil at half time tonight.

Well done Buffon. Years of class and still a top keeper. Cellaini still a top thug. Jagielka was tremendous in our defence and the second half was much better with a cracking goal from Townsend. Rooney did well up front and it all looked better. Henderson makes too many obvious passes for me. Barkley and Kane made a difference up front. Still some way to go, but we're getting there. 1-1 with Italy is much better than 5-0 against Isle of Mull or Helligoland (Oh, it's German Bight these days)
