Free travel for Stoke fans.

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Free travel for Stoke fans.

Post by Turkish Trotter » Sat Jul 20, 2013 1:38 pm

Stoke City have announced that they will be giving free travel to all 19 away games in the Premier League this season.
Sounds like an idea that will boost attendances, but it must be costing them a fair bit.
Let's hope others follow their lead, can't see it though.

Its probably a pittance compared to the money they'd lose getting relegated. Or probably the price of one(un-needed) squad player.

Was their away record particularly bad last year?

Never been able to stand Stoke, even more so after 'that' match but fair play to their board for this. A great gesture which they've funded via the increase in TV revenue. Be nice if it encouraged one or two others to follow suit.

Top marks to them. Good to see that all the TV money isn't going to the players and the fans get something out of it.
