That Blatter got balls of steel;
His latest interview:
(Fifa president Sepp Blatter , 79 , has not resigned despite massive public hostility against him. "This is just an investigation , no charges . I follow the process and cooperating with the authorities" he told Bunte .Since the end of September the Swiss Federal Prosecutor's Office is investigating Blatter on suspicion of "breach of trust and embezzlement" .
In an interview with Bunte he is relaxed and says : "I'm fine. I am that. Fifa's still working fine and the elected President remains in office.")

This could get really good.
Blatter, Platini and Valcke suspended for 90 days.
With those out of the equation maybe more stuff will come out.

How much would you have paid to be sat in the Security Booth for a day?

I'd love to be the guy charged with going to his office and saying "sorry Depp, but you don't seem to have quite grasped the critical point of yesterday's meeting".
I have had that pleasure once before. It was just a teensy bit awkward.

He has been relieved of all duties I just wonder if he is the sort of character who would top himself when's he out of the loop.

Surely he's had enough time to shred any incriminating evidence clear his appointments?
Re: FIFA ... bent, corrupt, double-dealing, cynical barstewa
Apparently this payment to Platini for work done years ago isn't in any of the fifa accounts.
Platini is a chilled out guy not getting that million until years later and not kicking up a fuss.

Re: FIFA ... bent, corrupt, double-dealing, cynical barstewa
He has this hearing to go. Plus the Swiss & the US legal things still to work through. He's rich enough to use exceptionally 'good' lawyers who can cast fog on sunny days, drag their feet and confuse matters. Then there are appeals. He'll be free to roam throughout all this, which will take years ... and, if push comes to shove, I'm sure he can go through the back of the cupboard and re-emerge in Russia or Qatar.jaffka wrote:He has been relieved of all duties I just wonder if he is the sort of character who would top himself when's he out of the loop.
He'll see no time in anyone's jail. Shame as that is
I believe he's so absorbed by himself, and so removed from reality I think he'll be totally convinced that he's done nothing wrong.

Oh he is a slimy cvnt alright but he hasn't had to deal with this amount of shite which had got so close to him before.
He's clearly uncomfortable and I'm enjoying it.

Absolutely. But he has enough options to ensure he doesn't need to do anything drastic.jaffka wrote:Oh he is a slimy cvnt alright but he hasn't had to deal with this amount of shite which had got so close to him before.

To a rational person yes but he thinks it's his empire, his Fifa how he goes on about 40 years ago there were 8 people employed. A reluctance to walk away when any sane person unless they had some serious shit to hide would. It's that what makes me think he could take that option.bobo the clown wrote:Absolutely. Re: FIFA ... bent, corrupt, double-dealing, cynical barstewa
Meanwhile .... UEFA have spent today refusing to agree to suspend Plating, even issuing supporting statements for his and statements by him.
Late in the day they have accepted it and have suspended him but there's milage in this yet. It seems that, as UEFA is subordinate to FIFA they could be suspended in total. Frankly a, Platini-less, UEFA sitting it out & maybe joining with the South Americans/Americans would do fine for me.
But in all honesty it all needs ripping up & starting again.

Re: FIFA ... bent, corrupt, double-dealing, cynical barstewa
I'm reading now that Blatter's role is being taken up by Hayatou, and Platini (as head of UEFA) by Villar Llona...both dodgy fxckers who are ALREADY under investigation for bribery and corruption. It's a complete fxcking farce.

Another suspension given out today, the Thai FA president.
Platini claiming he hasn't had an opportunity to out his side of events forward but apparently he was questioned for 5 hours.
Apparently this payment made to Platini for this work done years ago doesn't appear in the accounts and Swiss law states that this payment if not made should have expired after 5 years.
Amazing that the payment coincides with Platini voting for Qatar.

Merely a coincidence. Platini like Blatter are above reproach. They are honest men who have got mixed up in something that that is not their responsibility.jaffka wrote:Another suspension given out today, the Thai FA president.

Re: FIFA ... bent, corrupt, double-dealing, cynical barstewa
And in this case it was a mere coincidence, as Platini's bung (as I understand it) was handed over in a brown envelope as a reward for him withdrawing from the Presidential election thereby giving Good 'Ole Sepp another free run at it. Or was that some other fxcker, I'm getting mixed up with who has bunged who for what.malcd1 wrote:Merely a coincidence. Platini like Blatter are above reproach.
