Predictably, we feature in their list of fond memories from the 90's:

Sad, pathetic souls.

Imagine one of the top 15 moments in a decade being preventing someone from getting 100 points by scraping a 2-2 draw with Gavin Ward in net so he could get a medal.
Not quite sure who has the last laugh here.

I am. In fact I'm quite, quite sure, who's having the last laugh.Beefheart wrote:Imagine one of the top 15 moments in a decade being preventing someone from getting 100 points by scraping a 2-2 draw with Gavin Ward in net so he could get a medal.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

It certainly brings some perspective to our disappointments.
Here's hoping Chorley win their playoff final on Saturday and give them a good spanking for us next season!

Agreed. I had a look at their website yesterday to see where and when the play-off final was. I stumbled across the following advert which interested me. Not because of the beer, but because of the photo.LeverEnd wrote:It certainly brings some perspective to our disappointments.

Out of curiosity, I wondered if anyone out there recognises anyone in the picture? I can name 3 out of the 4.

No hardcore Chorley fans out there aged 70 or above then
I'm at a bit of an advantage 'cos the bloke top right is my Dad . Bit ironic to see him being used to advertise a beer festival, since he's never touched a drop of alcohol in his life!
Top left is Jack Cross, who my Dad described as his 'minder'.
Bottom right is Harry McShane. Actor Ian 'Lovejoy' McShane's Dad.

Not exactly sure tbh. It was a photo of the all conquering squad of the late 50s early 60s, who won everything going in that era, in front of crowds of several thousand each week. The squad also featured Peter Watson (I used to play in the same team as his son incidentally), who scored 400 goals in just over 300 appearances. Absolutely incredible!! Of course that was back in the day with 5 forwards and the idea was simply to score more goals than the opposition, without worrying too much about how many they'd scored against you.LeverEnd wrote:Interesting stuff! Their site just posted highlights of them drawing at home to us in 1997.
I'm so very very glad they're non-league, and I really hope they stay there.

Today's results mean that they stay there for at least another twelve months.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Their site just posted highlights of them drawing at home to us in 1997.

How very unfortunate.

My mate is gutted. Feel a bit sorry for him despite his allegiance. He was at Dover away the other week and has been all over the place.
Might go and watch harrogate town vs afc fylde in the conference north playoff on weds. Could be a new away day for tranmere next season.

I used to have a bit of respect for the fans who ignored the obvious lure of Everton or Liverpool. Until they had a modicum of success and showed what utter cockends they were. Then there was Aldridge .....
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
