It's only a matter of time before Heather Rabbatts suggests women should be interviewed for every job.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:If this is the way to solve stuff then I demand that at least one of the following should be interviewed, provided they have whatever certificate is relevant:
LGBT
Women
Disabled
Gingers
Young person under the age of 24
Older person over the age of 64
Whilst we're at it we should apply this to the FL, the FA, UEFA, FIFA and the non-league.
Apologies if I've missed out a minority group.

I know this was discussed a while ago but it is worth putting the link up again. It is an interview with Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble discussing the Rooney Rule.

Lennon and Ferdinand.boltonboris wrote:Who would you have as manager
John Terry or Rio Ferdinand
Rob Hall or Zach Clough
Bolasie or Seamus Coleman
Raheem Sterling or Jordan Hendersen
Neil Lennon or John Barnes
How you can begin to make a guess on the others I don't know. I don't think I've ever heard Hall, Bolasie or Coleman even speak!

They're all a bunch of wannabee 'baller' cvnts who think success is what you wear on your wrist or the size of the rims on your car

Do you not thing every board in the FTSE 100 would say the same thing about the gender of their CEOs?Bruce Rioja wrote:Exactly. Had I spunked a shitload of cash, ala Eddie Davies, into a football club and needed a manager that could possibly get us out of it then the last thing I'd be looking at is the colour of his or her skin. It's as ridiculous as judging Lennon on as to which side of the sectarian divide he sits (if either)!Vertigo wrote:Why would any club choose a black manager over a better white manager? Yes and with some justification - the next tier of management down is predominantly male (if you're looking at internal candidates) and predominantly male (if you're looking at external candidates) that have some track record. So the pool they're picking from isn't balanced and therefore much more likely to result in a male appointment (and actually a male being the "best" person for the job). It is changing, but slowly.Prufrock wrote:Do you not thing every board in the FTSE 100 would say the same thing about the gender of their CEOs?Bruce Rioja wrote:Exactly. Whatever variable a person can have, some people will find fault (rightly or wrongly) and not be happy.

Our CEO is female (as is the CFO). Interestingly, with all that clout (CEO is 51% of the decision making process ) , the Board is still 75% male.Prufrock wrote:Ah yes, it's turtles all the way down.

Re: Football League plan Rooney Rule to boost ethnic manager
Our old pal Robbie Blake posted a picture of him and his group from a coaching course, one of those UEFA A or B license things.. Anyway, there's about 30 of them on the picture (Paul Robinson included)
Only 3 of them were black..
Anyone can sign up to these course.. Absolutely anyone, so why so few Black people?

^^ maybe they believe the Rooney Rool means they don't need to ???
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
