The Spanish legal system does appear to be a bit odd. Messi gets a jail sentence but won't serve time provided he uses his ill gotten gains to pay a fine. Marcus Alonso got a jail sentence didn't he, but has been allowed to play for us, Sunderland and Fiorentina since.

Isn't it the same with us and suspended sentences? Re-offend and you do the time set down.

I guess we should start taking a leaf out of the US book then and start 100 year plus sentences.
