No news on the points deduction but this is funny.

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley hoped he would be a key figure in their relegation battle, but has so far cost the club £146,000 a minute.

It's quite big money though, especially seeing as they'll probably go down anyway....

Best result IMO, if they had been given a Points deduction, they would have been given the perfect excuse to be relegated. It also means they will have to offload some of their nearly good players!mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:So.. no points deduction, but a £5.5million fine.warthog wrote:No news on the points deduction but this is funny.

True, but I think it's more likely that they'll get to the end of the season, go down, and think "feck, they might as well just have had a dozen points instead".officer_dibble wrote:
Of course if they end up surviving the money they will save by not going down will make it well worth it...
As it is, I think the principle is the correct one - leagues should be decided on what goes on on the pitch, if at all possible.

Agreed, unless the unfair infraction gave them an advantage over other teams. Over here, if an ineligible player is used the team loses all the games in which that player played. I can't say that having the Argentinians appeared to help WHam in any way but.... I also remember how last August we thought they had done better than anyone else in the window.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:

Tevez has been good for them so they have gained an advantage. They'd probably have been down by now without him.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Agreed, unless the unfair infraction gave them an advantage over other teams.
