If you mean Silva, he was in front of Heskey when Heskey turned and shot so even though it came back of the keeper Silva was offside.TANGODANCER wrote:Still keep trying to see how Feeney was offside for his goal?

Yes, Silva, sorry. I made a slip up there Rivi. I thought he was behind Heskey and a couple of defenders and dashed through.

Genuine offer - anyone that would like to go to games but maybe you have more pressing financial commitments - my ticket's freely available for the four games I mentioned. Just let me know and please make sure I get my ticket back at the end of 'em. You'll be sat next to WtW, which is always a couple of hours invested wisely too.

With your weight differential you've certainly more chance picking him off than picking him up.

GMR commentators seemed to think we got away with 2 calls for penalties around 85 & 86 minutes.
Anyone have a view ?

There was a handball, but it looked more like an "off the leg to arm" one.
There was an incident where one of their lads tried removing Silvas head with his boot that they got away with just a yellow.
What a hero, What a man...... Ooooh, what a bad foul...

Re: I'd Rother be enamoured of our Neil... Rotherham (H) 6/2
I have no great feelings one way or the other about Lennon but playing Feeney up front on his own was the start of our best period as it stopped that numpty Dervite lobbing hopeful balls up to Heskey (who did his best but was out of it by half time). We were forced to play it on the ground and, when Woolery came on, his pace and Feeney's had Rotherham reeling. Trotter was (and I never thought I'd say it) a huge bonus in midfield when he was brought on. So we have 3 substitutions, each one contributing to an essential victory. Who can say if Lennon's a tactical genius or just lucky? Don't think anyone can know the answer - just keep hoping the wins keep coming.Bijou Bob wrote:An awful performance from everyone, until Trotter came on and changed the game. Suddenly, we had energy, bossed the centre of midfield and had someone who could find a white shirt with a pass. I lost count of the number of times Mavies gave it away today. What really came out of this though is that NL is clueless. Playing Feeney on his own up top?? He got out of gaol today. Just.

Hmmm, I'm yet to be convinced of Lennon's tactical geniusness! Bless Heskey, but it appeared on saturday (there was no supporting evidence, so this is supposition) that D-Pratz was meant to be playing off him, a la Nolan-Davies if you will. What that involved in actual fact was a lumped ball up to Heskey, who either chested it down or headed it to.... well, precisely no-one. The support he got was pathetic, I'm not surprised he was shot by half time.
As for Rotherham, rather worryingly they looked like a better team than us, not just a rag-tag collection of 11. They look like they understood the importance of the game, had trained together at some point, and had a game plan. Which partly seemed to involve targeting Moxey. But that's by the by. We won. By literally having the better of the first ten minutes and the last 5.

Re: I'd Rother be enamoured of our Neil... Rotherham (H) 6/2
While I trust a lot of TW posters, I also know that football fans often think that (1) their team is more vulnerable and (2) the opposition is more likely to score. It is, I believe, a trained response to all those disappointments we suffer (and reinforced by confirmation bias when things do go wrong).
What I’m saying is, if you go on a Rotherham forum this morning, do you think the unmerry Millers fans will be saying how their team looked much more organised and motivated, had a better gameplan and had the better of most of the game? Or might they be saying that their team was typically unfocused in conceding a late winner, that their manager made the wrong substitutions, etc?
Maybe the truth - such as it is, in a solipsistic universe - lies somewhere in between.
Anyway, I’m glad we won. Anyone going to Brighton? I fancy it and so does my colleague. Any ticket news yet? (There wasn’t on Friday.)

I agree about Heskey, mate. I thought he performed admirably, and he very nearly scored a cracker too.Lord Kangana wrote:Hmmm, I'm yet to be convinced of Lennon's tactical geniusness! I've just read the Lion of Vienna Suite's match ratings, and they've given Feeney "minus 1 million." That's so harsh. We've got nobody else, and Feeney's doing all that he can. He works so hard, week in week out, and he's not that bad. He'll play wherever Lennon puts him and he'll always put his heart into it.

I thought Feeney was one of the better performers. His pace worried them a little, even if his end product isn't all that. I personally thought Spearing performed admirably throughout. He's not the prettiest to watch, but he carried the midfield at times.
