Barnsley and Port Vale can once again become my most visited away grounds.

For some reason they've slipped down the rankings in the last few years. So seeing as they wouldn't do us the courtesy of coming up to us, we'll have to go down to them.

just had a quick look at the league 1 table, there are not a right lot of new grounds for me there! only Burton (who will go up) colchester, southend and fleetwood. 2 of which im highly unlikely to bother with... FFS, hope Acci Stanley go up! Bury away will be the gala fixture!

How come everyone's been to Port Vale. I can't even remember us ever playing Port Vale.

First game of the 100-goal season. A few days after selling Curcic.

I remember we went there in the League Cup, around 89 judging by the players who signed my BWFC flag. Rob Palmer was interviewing players on the pitch while wearing brown suede moccasins. Funny what you remember.

One of my favourite Wanderers games ever - Armfield Div 3 promotion season (1971?)

It wasn't THAT fckg innocent. It hailed half-house bricks from their end onto ours.

That was the game when one of their ballboys tried to waste time ... & Byron tw@tted him.

Car park? half will be built over and the other half will be the pitch. 4 jumpers from Age Concern's shop and four lads on YTS schemes holding the rope above them.
Although the new new owners of the ReCon-ditioned might allow you to park on the grass.

2 - 2. Bolton played in Red. Now THAT was a successful away kit. Worthy at Blackburn - no horrid mucky-grey/green/sick shirts then, just red with some tasteful dashing down the sleeves!

See - it was a long time ago - so nostalgia rules.

Memory plays tricks - i could have sworn it was Roy Greaves who tw@tted the ball boy. Just in front of us.

IIRC we scored in injury time and stopped them going up with us.

So the bricks would be no surprise in those days.

Memory is a funny thing - I can remember things 40 years ago - but not what i went into the kitchen for 2 minutes ago!!!!!!!

You went into the kitchen for a beer. That's what you go into kitchens for, right??

OK, in general then, I shall look forward to Port Vale v us. I can then join the massed ranks memoryvillewise for eternity... :D
That's gotta be worth a relegation!

Also fond memories of Super John McGinlay blagging me and my mate onto the supporters coaches back in '93. Also for a 1-1 in a promotion season. Proper 3-pointer important game that one. I know I've been 3 times, can't place the third (maybe under Allardyce? Memory is playing tricks).

And some of the fans kicked down the corrugated sheeting at the back of the ground singing Port Vales falling down, falling down

I went PV in the early '80s (t'interweb says it was October 1983). There had been a stabbing before the game and all the away supporters were filmed by the police as we left the game. First time I'd seen that done.
